Not quite the sort of kbbq you’re accustomed to! Friday’s count as weekends, so the buffet ($19.80) costs more but comes with a larger selection of ingredients. Some of the highlights were seabass, dory, flower crab and crayfish! The meats are well marinated but heavily salted. We opted for the collagen broth, which was flavourful and thick. We found the set up a tad too small for a group of 5 - it doesn’t fit much so the turnover of food is quite slow. Also, do note that the promotion (5th diner eats free) only applies from 5-6 pm.
Four Points acclaims to be an extensive seafood buffet, so I was really excited to try it using Chope’s 1 for 1 voucher ($61.20 / 2 pax for Saturday lunch)! The seafood selection turned out to be quite measly - they served prawns, mussels and clams on ice (quite briny, only slightly sweet) and cereal crab (scarcely any meat and it was dry & hard). Our favourite item turned out to be the fresh salmon, tuna and octopus sashimi which they prepared upon ordering! They had a much larger selection of cold dishes and local fare, but nothing stood out. Of the desserts, I’d recommend the durian mousse. I believe the items served vary by day and timing, so perhaps you’ll have better luck!
I’m sure many would have watched the viral Food League video and be tempted to traverse the island for a dim sum & roast meat buffet - who can resist the incredible deal of eating food that would otherwise cost hundreds of dollars at $19.80++?? Needless to say, I was one of those haha and I was super excited to have a warm belly full of goodies. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed. The restaurant is poorly staffed and ill equipped to handle the volume of customers - they turned away those who had not made reservations, even though the place was eventually only 2/3 full. It took 25 min to be seated and to place our first order, and another 25 min for the first batch of food to arrive. I’m sure you can imagine how painfully slow it was when there were only 3 servers available to take orders, serve food and clear tables. What’s worse is that the spread of food is a mere fraction of what was shown in the video - half the dim sum options were not available because “they could not be prepared in time” (hence all we got were those 4 options shown in the picture), while the roast meats came cold and greasy on small serving plates. I ended up enjoying dishes like eefu noodles and 3 egg spinach the most.. which is really not what the restaurant should be known for. So all in all - a terrible experience at a restaurant that is misrepresented online. I should know better than to buy into such promotions, but I now know for certain that I won’t be making a trip back.
