Kimchi. Just, give me kimchi. ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท

The beef platter ($30) has short rib, beef loin and beef brisket while the combination platter, ($28) has marinated chicken, pork belly and short rib. My personal favorite has to be a tie between the tender, juicy chicken thigh and the melt-in-your-mouth pork belly. <3 And the king oyster mushrooms tasted so good grilled. Wish they'd given us more.

There were 4-5 types of free-flow banchan. The kimchi was a tad too spicy for me, but they also had these boiled baby potatoes with a sweet sauce that was spot-on. I also liked the spinach salad.

There are both electric and charcoal grills available; we had the electric grill because we wanted to sit indoors. Staff are efficient, with food coming quickly and the waiters refilling water and banchans quickly when we called for their attention. There are better Kbbq places out there, but I think Gaia is still a good option if one is out in Holland Village and craving Korean flavors.

Korean rendition of my favorite egg dish, Chawanmushi <3 ($8.80) except this one is better because its so much bigger and the sight of the hot stock bubbling over the edges of the pot is so much more appetite-whetting than a tiny teacup ๐Ÿ˜‚

Its really light-tasting, almost bland. Almost to the point where I can't tell its made from egg and I settled with enjoying the light, fluffy texture with the kimchi and some of the other banchans.

But this is really my first time trying this egg dish, so I'm not sure its supposed to be this bland or whether it was just this restaurant's recipe. Still, quite a good appetizer to go along with a heavy meaty meal :)

See that big piece of beef ($30)? Oh yeah. :3 Also ordered the garlic chicken which came with two huge slabs of chicken thigh ($20) marinated with tons of garlic.

I think the portions were reasonable but I wished the meats could have been more flavorful. Perhaps its the fact that a gas rather than charcoal plate was used, but while the meat was tender I found myself wishing it was more juicy and had more of that meaty, gamey flavor. Very thankful to the helpful staff who helped cook and cut up the meats. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Still, the free-flow banchans were pretty good. I liked that the kimchi was not too spicy. :) Anddddd they have a free flow salad bar accessible to all customers wow!! That meant watermelon slices, carrot sticks, lettuce leaves, tomato and lots of other goodies to dress up that meat and balance out the protein-heavy meal. Also much-needed free flow water and barley tea.

Certainly not regretting the newly-discovered part of me that likes Korean food. :3

I have recently taken quite a liking to Korean food and flavors. ๐Ÿค” And I was so super impressed by this new Korean joint in the CBD!

The 2 pax set ($48) comes with pork belly, prime rib, pork shoulder and marinated chicken. It was the perfect portion for two people. The meats were all really good especially wrapped in a lettuce leaf with a piece of kimchi (my favorite was hands-down the marinated chicken thigh; incredibly juicy and flavorful!!) The fact that they provided a charcoal grill resulted in a nice smoky char imparted on the meats.

Among the banchan my favorites had to be the chuka wakame (cold and refreshing), sweet beancurd skin and some gochujang-marinated beansprouts. The silken tofu was really nice too. In addition I really appreciated the ring of refillable egg (with crabstick) around the sides of the grill. Provided that extra protein kick. ๐Ÿ˜œ I had it refilled thrice! Oh there's also self-service ice cream ;) chocolate and mango flavor when I made my visit

Definitely value for money especially when shared out among 2 people!! :)
