Idk how I feel about their 𝙐𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙞 𝘼𝙫𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙤 𝙍𝙤𝙡𝙡 (~$18.90). Their teriyaki sauce laden scaly eel is adequate, but when you’ve had Rollie Olie’s Unagi roll...... you’re kinda SPOILT rotten to have this.....

Because I was madly MADLY craving some sushi, I went for something foolproof— The Sushi Bar’s 𝘼𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙞 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙢𝙤𝙣 𝙍𝙤𝙡𝙡 (~$16.90). Pretty self-explanatory, it was mentaiko torched salmon on raw salmon, complemented with kani and cucumber. Simple, hits the spot, fulfils the cravings. 🍣

If you want something to crunch on, the 𝙎𝙤𝙛𝙩 𝙎𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝘾𝙧𝙖𝙗 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙢𝙤𝙣 𝘼𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙞 𝙍𝙤𝙡𝙡 (~$18.90) is TRULY the best of both worlds. Tbvh I was surprised at how the crab didn’t disintegrate to a limp soggy mess but was still!! crispy!!?!!! 🥳🥳

Decided to try their maki bc I always get their dons, and I chose the 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗸𝗶 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗶 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶 (~$16.90): a maki roll filled with Salmon, Unagi, Hotate and Snow Crab! Sounds too good to be true, right? Well... kinda 🤷🏻♀️ Portions of all 4 meats were lacking, I could barely even see any, pretty much tasted rice most of the time ☹️

Dos Amigo (~$14.95): hands down one of the better unagi rolls I’ve had. Instead of the classic rice and cucumber filling, this roll goes with not just that, but avocado, cream cheese and TEMPURA CRUNCH!! 🍣 Plump unagi sat on top of the rice roll, flavoured with a nice amount of sauce and sprinkled with tempura bits for the texture 😛 Also, the cream cheese was probably the best addition to this maki roll — smooth, creamy and consistent. Not to be dramatic or anything, but Rollie Ollie you have won my heart with your generous toppings 😋

Honestly pretty meh sushi, but this mayo hotate was probably one of the better ones, since the hotate size was quite thick!

Tamago Mentaiko (~$10.90): gonna say that I’m NOT a fan of mentaiko in general but I quite liked this! The tamago wasn’t the most consistent but the pairing of tamago and mentaiko had a good balance of sweet and salty, though I would prefer less mentaiko since it overpowered the sweetness at times 🍳

‘Crabmeat’ maki (~$18): not that impressive and didn’t wow me as much as the unagi 🦀 Crabmeat lacked texture, and the inside was filled with capsicum (which I didn’t rly like). BUT it was nicely fried and crispy on the edges which added a lot of texture to the otherwise moist dish!

Shookening vegetarian unagi??? Vegetarian unagi maki (~$18) was definitely on the pricier side but DAMN I couldn’t tell it wasn’t unagi unless I was purposely looking out for it🍣🍣 Both my eyes and my mouth were fooled 🤪 The only main difference I’d say is that the ‘unagi’ lacked the smokiness of your normal unagi, but damn it was 👌🏻
