While their most prominent stall is at Somerset, did you know they have several outlets conveniently located in the heartlands, with 2 of them located in Shell stations?
Made a trip down to Sengkang’s Shell station and came back with 3 drinks! My favourite is their Oolong Tea Latte, which spots a nice ombré colour. Despite the 50% sugar content, the drink wasn’t sweet at all, with the oolong fragrance taking centre stage and exhibiting the familiar bitter undertone.
Hokkaido Chizu Matcha
Light, earthy smooth matcha fragrance on my first mouth, though I felt the chizu was pretty muted and overpowered by the matcha scent. Could do with a little more chizu foam!
Brown Sugar Creme Brulee Milk
Expected nothing less from a brown sugar drink, this was the sweetest of the trio and came in the signature 'tiger stripes' which has turned into one with the drink by the time I took this shot :( Nevertheless, brown sugar fragrance was strong but can get cloyingly sweet after a while, so for those who do not have a sweet tooth but would like their fix of brown sugar, I'd suggest trying their tea versions where the tea notes can help to balance out the sweetness! I thoroughly enjoyed the accompanying pearls which was absolutely chewy and fragrant, having absorbed all that brown sugar goodness.
Fragrant Taro Latte
True to its name, this pretty lavender shade beverage was indeed aromatic, with the drink being rich and creamy. Easily my favourite out of the 3!
Welcoming the latest boba tea contender in SG is Chun Yang Tea, opened by Taiwanese celebrity Blackie Chen 黑人 (Fan Wei Qi’s husband). They seemed to be a little under-the-radar, with the absence of a snaking long queue which seems to come with all newly opened boba shops in the nation. Nevertheless, I got myself the Oolong Tea Latte With Pudding, which was ranked the second best seller. Frankly, I felt it was very underwhelming and overpriced 😐 worth a try maybe but that’s about it.
Might have found my new favourite drink at LiHo! Wasn’t expecting this Da Hong Pao Milk Tea to taste this good! The tea really came through and I think it would have been better had I gotten a lower sugar percentage. Their 50% felt like a 70% so take note when y’all order!
If you cut me open, I might just bleed boba 😂.
distinct roasted notes in their Signature Roasted Milk Tea, albeit being a little off in terms of the overall flavour.
Putting Burpple 1-1 to good use by getting my weekly boba fix here at Moment. Lychee Jelly Milk Tea was sweet and refreshing, with the tiny bits of lychee jelly having the same texture as nata de coco. Definitely a good choice for the sweltering heat today (and every other day, tbh)
My second try and it has a nice ombré this time round, but I can’t say the same for the taste.
Coffee Jelly Black Milk Tea was a disappointment. Not only was there no distinct tea flavour, the coffee jelly were pretty much just jelly, with barely any trace of coffee. Will give this a miss and opt for the other options!
Pudding Milk Tea is hands down my favourite combination! Go easy on the sugar level though, cause the pudding itself is already sweet, so it’ll add on to the overall sweetness. But rejoice, if you’re a sweet toother like me 🥰
still one of my favourite boba shop cause the tea used here are extremely aromatic, particularly their Dong Ding Oolong Milk Tea .
Feeling salty cause I was expecting an Instagrammable ombré drink but it didn’t look very ombré to me. Their signature The Moment Grey Milk Tea was nothing impressive, with the tea lacking any fragrance or flavour from the bamboo charcoal which is the key ingredient behind the drink’s colour. Priced slightly steep, I don’t think this drink is worth the hype, but I would be back to try other flavours!
