Chinese
Spicy hot crayfish ($36+)
The crayfish shell is super hard to crack I'm not sure why, but the sauce is sooo addictive. If you love mala sauce you'll love this for sure, it's just not that easy to eat
Sweet Potato Salted Egg Pao (forgot the price, around $2~$4)
The salted egg paste inside is actually a bit dry for me, so it depends on your preference, but I love the crispy anda bit salty/sweet taste of the pao! It's not sickening type of sweet and the crispy texture makes it fun to eat.
Rice Roll With Prawn ($3.8)
Swee Choon is famous already and I think it's a no wonder they're famous! It's not that expensive and yet the taste is sooo good and fresh! There's 4pcs i think in 1 portion, and it's so fresh! I love the soy sauce that comes along with it, it's not the sweet sauce they usually serve in Singapore, but the salty Hongkong style and so I love it!
Signature Boiled Chicken ($10 / $14 / $20 / $28)
We order the $20 portion since there's 5 of us. The chicken is soo soft and tasty, it's so savory and worth it!
Spare Ribs Soup ($9++)
The meat is soooo tender and soft! We can eat it easily but it's still firm! It's perfectly cooked and the souo taste also great! The refill also tastes as good as the first bowl!
Don't forgot the fried dough! It's so crispy and soft but i forgot to take the picture.
Deep fried bean curd ($12)
The bean curd is soft and plain but it's sooo good! It's deep fried and yet it don't feel like it's oily. It tastes great and light despite it's deep fried.
Pumpkin Pie ($5.8)
This is supposed to be the dessert but it's so oily. The pie is fried that's why you must expect lots of oil on every bite. But it have a great crispy texture on the outside and the inside is not too sweet so the taste itself is nice! It actually tastes like Indonesian fried street foods that fried with lots of oils, so if you're fine with oily foods you should try this
Thank you Burpple and Qi Lai Feng for inviting me!
Baby lobster ($28.8)
If you love mala and the numb taste in your mouth, this is deffinitely one of the must order! The baby lobster was soooo gooddd! The mala spices seeps in to the inside and blends in nicely.
Thank you Burpple and Qi Lai Feng for inviting me!
Their speciality, q fish, have a special texture for fish. The meat is not soft but more to the chewy tipe like squid but softer. We got the lowest level of spiciness so the taste is a bit mild, it might be better if it's more spicy.
They say the fish got the unique texture because they're fed some engineered diet like beans for 100 days and then they go on slimming process for 45 days. It truly is a new texture and experience for me.
Thank you Burpple and Qi Lai Feng for inviting me!
Sauerkraut Fish Pot (S $38.8 ~ L $58.8 | depends on fish type)
We got the qq fish (i think?) and the meat is so soft and tender it's very easy to eat. But what makes it 5 stars for me is the soup! It tastes very fresh, a bit sour and savory with the additions of numbing that comes from the mala spice. Once I ate it I couldn't stop eating it!
Thank you Burpple and Qi Lai Feng for inviting me!
Mabo Don Set ($16 9++)
The mabo tofu is not spicy at all, I expect mabo tofu at least is cooked witg their red szechuan mala spice but maybe I expect too much. The cheese is good tho, they have add several kind of cheese on the dish, but it's not mixed. So some part you could taste the bland moza, some part you could taste the salty cheese.
The set comes with gyoza which YOU MUST TRY. Honestly the best food in this restaurant is the gyoza! The fried part is crispy and the inside is juicy and savory!
Smoked Duck w/ Crispy Spring Roll Skin ($6.8++)
This is the MUST ORDER in here! The smoked duck is sooo savory it's great, and the spring roll skin is super crispy. The combination of them is a bit weird but unexpectedly good! The crispy skin joined with soft chewy duck, after a few chews the smoked duck savory taste will spread in your mouth, it's definitely a must try!
Friendly and helpful staffs, great and clean restaurant.
