Golden Mile Curry Rice Stall #01-110
Pork Chop Curry Rice Set ($3)
- Comes with curry chap chye/mixed vegetables, pork chop, fried egg
- Pork chop thicker than usual and very crunchy
- Curry was spicy and thick; very aromatic
- Curry was less sweet relative to others, more for those who really want to satisfy their cravings for something spicy
- My fried egg was unfortunately slightly overcooked hence the yolk did not ooze out
Overall, a value-for-money curry rice stall that is worth going if you are in the area
Taste: 7.5/10
Price: 9/10
Overall: 8/10

Fei Zhu Traditional Teochew Handmade Fishball & Minced Meat Noodle
Minced Meat Noodle; Mee Pok ($5)
- For their $5 and $6 options, their ingredients come in a separate bowl filled with pork broth
- Pork broth was very rich and hearty
- Contained fishballs, fishcakes, liver, prawns, pork slices, lettuce, minced pork, 1 Teochew fish dumpling
- Good spice to the noodles but thought that it could have been springier and that there could have been more flavour
- Fishball tasted fresh and was bouncy; no fishy flavour
Overall, broth was the star (Finished the entire thing) but felt that the noodles was only average
Price: 8/10
Taste: 8/10
Overall: 8/10

SL II Muffin
Chocolate cheese tart ($1.60)
- Very very thick and creamy cream cheese topping
- Because cream cheese topping was used, this tart is very tangy and felt that the chocolate added little to no sweetness to the tart to balance out the cream cheese filling
Overall, stick to their egg tarts and coconut tarts (Both selling at $1.20 each)
Price: 6/10
Taste: 5/10
Overall: 5/10

SL II Muffin
Coconut Tart ($1.20)
- Very fragrant
- Thick buttery crust
- Moist coconut filling within
- Very value-for money with huge portion given
Price: 9.5/10
Taste: 9/10
Overall: 9/10

Egg Tart ($1.20)
- Light and creamy
- Thick buttery crust again
- Subtly sweet
Price: 9.5/10
Taste: 8.5/10
Overall: 9/10

Chocolate Chip Muffin ($1.50)
- Chocolate chips were only found along the exterior of the muffin
- The muffin batter will satisfy anybody with a muffin craving
- Thick and dense
- Overall, average muffin but quite value-for-money; would recommend their coconut / egg tarts instead though
Overall: 6/10

Additional notes: The tarts were going for $1.20 per piece or $6.60 for 6, with the option to mix & match these 2 tarts. They are honestly much much better when they are warm and freshly baked. Went there once after having my Hokkien Mee and when I received them they were really warm and baked to perfection.
After finishing with my food tour, decided to have the coconut tart again and try their chocolate chip muffin as well. Ate the coconut tart at the hawker centre again but it was unfortunately not as warm as my first encounter with it and the filling within was slightly drier as well, hence not as satisfying. Hence, you guys may get some hits and misses.

Yew Chuan Claypot Rice
Claypot rice ($12)
- Without the addition of the dark soya sauce or oil, the rice itself was fragrant and the sauces that they had added made the dish subtly sweet on its own
- Contained chunks of chicken, lup cheong (Chinese Sausage), vegetables, salted fish cubes
- Claypot rice was cooked just right as the crispy bits around the edges of the bowl was not burnt, unlike a previous experience I had at Holland Village Market & Food Centre, Tai Liok Claypot Chicken Rice, allowing us to scrape out all the crispy bits of rice around the entire bowl
- The chunks of chicken loaded with flavour, the sweetness from the lup cheong and the crunchy texture of the vegetables complemented one another really well
All this were elevated with additional sweetness from the dark soya sauce
- If I were to compare it again with Tai Liok Claypot Chicken Rice though, felt that the balance of flavours there was better and enhanced as the one at Golden Mile was a tad too saltish at times which leads me to my next point
- Bits of salted fish were added, but quite irregularly distributed with significantly large chunks at times
- Overall, a hearty meal for lunch
Price: 7.5/10
Taste: 8.5/10
Overall: 8/10

Additional notes: The service here put me off slightly as the lady was frowning constantly and brushed me off slightly when I was asking what time they would be ready (Arrived at 1130H, found out that they only opened at 1200H). When I went back the third time at 1200H though, the claypot rice was served out quite promptly (Within 15min). That being said, I'm not complaining as after all, I go to hawker centres for good affordable food!

Burgs by Project Warung
Burgs Classic Cheese Burger + Sunny Side-up ($5.50 + $0.60)
- Juicy, flavourful beef patty
- Melted cheese complemented the beef
- Sunny side-up was unfortunately a tad bit overcooked and did not have a runny yolk
- Overall though, a hearty cheese burger that definitely satisfied my burger cravings
Price: 9/10
Taste: 9/10
Overall: 9/10

Additional notes: I spent quite some time circling the stall before actually asking them if they were open at around 1200H to which they answered yes. Did that because their stall name wasn't lit up like the rest of the stalls that were open and assumed that they were probably still preparing for the day. So if any of you are going, do not be disappointed if you see that their signboard is not lit up from afar!

Avocado Jr.
Avocado drink Medium ($4)
- Supposed to be from the same stall as that from Alexandra and indeed, it is very fragrant with hints of gula melaka and pandan (Not sure if there was actually any pandan)
Price: 7.5/10
Taste: 9/10
Overall: 8.5/10

Kopi More
Kopi O Gao; Coffee black with more coffee ($1.90)
- Fragrant coffee
- Understand that he uses freshly grounded coffee beans and an espresso machine to make his coffee, but I guess I cannot appreciate coffee as well yet as I could not quite make out much difference between this coffee and ones from other established coffee stalls; It is still an above average coffee though but will not pay this much for the coffee in future
Price: 4/10
Taste: 8/10
Overall: 6/10

Traditional Teochew Minced Meat Noodle (On the left side of Avocado Jr.)
Minced Meat Noodle Dry ($3)
- Contained meatballs, fishcake, scallions, fishball, char siew, minced meat
- Noodles were chewy and springy
- Good amount of sauce was provided which clung on well to the noodles
- Fishball was fragrant and not at all fishy
- Meatball, though small, was dense
- Asked for chili and I really liked the spice level in my bowl, definitely elevated the dish as it provided the fragrance without overpowering the flavour from the rest of the ingredients
- Overall, an above average bowl of mee pok; will try Fei Zhu next time!
Overall: 8/10

Hey, so I finally managed to find time to go out to eat again and really grateful to have had this opportunity to explore Golden Mile Food Centre on an empty stomach (I skipped breakfast) :)

Here are the list of stalls I visited in order of what I bought first:
1) Hainan Hokkien Mee
2) Traditional Teochew Minced Meat Noodle (Forgot the actual stall name but it is NOT the Fei Zhu Minced Meat Noodle; It is located on the left of Avocado Jr. and opposite of Kopi More)
3) Yew Chuan Claypot Rice
4) Burgs
5) Kopi More
6) Avocado Jr.
7) SL II Muffin (Actually went here twice)

If you were thinking, yes I definitely did not eat this all by myself... shared it with 1 other person

Hainan Hokkien Mee
Hokkien Mee ($4)
- Flavourful hokkien mee but felt that my plate was lacking the 'wok hei' flavour
- As with other reviews, this stall sells the dry version of hokkien mee which I personally do not prefer
- Felt that the portion was slightly smaller than average
- Overall, hokkien mee was still loaded with flavour
Price/Taste/Overall: 7/10
