Enjoyed this place for it's unique menu and drinks, had their Sakura chicken with herbal tcm broth, and my friend had the coffee glazed pork chop. Enjoyed the citrine cocktail (not in pic) with a rum base.
Hard to get bookings here and dining experience felt rushed ($120 for 2 pax, with 1 drink each)
Japan x Korea sushi from the founders of makisan. It has a mix of Korean elements like kimchi, egg omelette, and ginger (which was a miss for us) and it is creative. We tried the salmon sashimi and prawn tempura ones. Wish that the sushi was held together more firmly as it may fall apart, and most imptly, I'll go for no ginger next time
Highly reco by my friend, Inle Myanmar is authentic and nestled in a B1 stretch together with other Burmese restaurants.
We tried the national dish of Mohinga (at the back! Which is rice noodle and fish soup, together with crispy yellow pea) as well as Shan Noodles which is rice noodles with a mix of savoury sauces.
We also have here the pickled tea leaves salad which definitely gives a kick with the sour vinegarish taste. Well rounded flavours and healthy too.
For $14.90 set meal each, we got a main, side and drink!
The food here far exceeds our expectations and is simply a gastronomical sensation!! Do check out if you're in punggol!
Some dishes to highlight:
Assam Laksa that won with the smokey and fragrant heibihiam Assam taste, with punchy garlic bits ($18)
Harcheongkai burger (back) nestled in between bolo bun. Massive, crisp, juicy chicken thigh nails it. More burgers should be done with the buttery polo bun. The buns are baked freshly here everyday
Thank you fat Po 🐼
Our taste buds were treated to the marriage of french and japanese cuisine. For 5 people, the server classically shares that we have to get 5:4:3 - or 5 appetisers, 4 charcoal grill and 3 mains.
Highlighting the memorable ones here:
1. Shrimp Dumplings - plump, juicy darlings in rich bisque ($25)
2. Uni pasta - a special thats not on the menu, so buttery rich and decadent, king of all pastas ($42)
3. Little Neck Clams - a definite must order for how generous and hearty the portion is. ($20) Drinking the clam broth warms you up so
4. Australian Wagyu and Garlic Chips - chunky beefs!! Cooked on their special Binchotan charcoal that made it extra smokey ($16)
5. Hokkaido Scallops - delicately prepared XL sized scallops ($22)
6. Foie Gras - love how earthy the foei gras tasted, and thought its rly unique it's paired with daikon in dashi broth. May be an acquired taste but liked this alot ($24)
7. Short Rib (the feature!) - paired with port wine reduction, this is a clear indulgence of tastes ($40)
8. Binchotan - the signature dish of "popiah" is densely packed with rich pulled Angus Beef, irresistible with cream ($25)
9. Uni & Caviar - one unique dish on cauliflower puree? Flavour bomb ($25)
What a feast with friends!! :-)
Came here for a very memorable birthday dinner, their innovative take on seafood which is all fished from the kelong is one of a kind, for instance, these buttery charred roasted prawns oozing with juiciness and with the complementary taste of their housemade nori is a must order!
For $12, its a steal and a crowd pleaser.
The basmati seafood fried rice is easily my favourite dish here! Extremely fragrant with a tinge of spiciness, you also get to find many fresh fried prawns inside too. Plus, my indian friend shared that they always have Chinese food with ketchup, though i felt its good even without it!
Had my fair share of naans, curries and mango lassi. By the riverbank, its a peaceful place for group dinners ($15.90 for the fried rice)
