Comfort food right here. The pork balls were chewy and tasty, went well with the clean congee, which was a little sweet. They also gave about 5-6 pork balls, generous portion which made up for the price.
Loved the prawn broth which was fragrant, a little like lobster bisque. The prawns were big but not super fresh and the handmade ebiko prawn paste was tasty but not impressive. Nevertheless, I love how the prawn dumplings were rich in flavour. The ramen’s texture was also firm just the way I like it. Not the best priced for this bowl but worth trying for something new.
Queued about 15 mins for this, and the broth was so worth it! Sweet and flavourful, very comforting to have on a rainy day. The noodles also weren’t too soft, boiled to perfection. The king prawn, however, wasn’t impressive (not super fresh or juicy) and the spare rib was served cold and I couldn’t taste the prawn paste in it. Wouldn’t specially queue again for this bowl of noodles, not the best priced despite its Michelin status!
Had the chicken soup base which gave the dish a lot of comfort food feels. Definitely pricy for what you get but I must say that the luncheon meat slices are very delicious and nicely fried, while the egg yolk in the sunny side up was slightly runny - just the way I like it! The macaroni was also cooked slightly al dente so it doesn’t break easily. Good texture. GST is included in the prices and no service charge, service is fast also. Would go back anytime!
The best roasted pork I had out of all the Chinese restaurants in Singapore! I love how the fatty part isn’t too oily and the skin is freshly crispy. Common dish but simply done without much effort!
Added $2 to get the chicken drumstick! Always my favourite dish here because the noodles are nicely crunchy, the sauce is lightly flavoured and the soy chicken is so tender!
Their signature hor fun with silky chicken and wanton soup on the side, and comes with a drink of your choice (got the hot barley which tasted really fresh!) - the hor fun was average, chicken was nicely tender but the soup tasted strange (although the minced meat in the wanton tasted fine). Pretty average and decent meal for its price, but have tasted better elsewhere at a better price.
I like how the fish did not soak up too much of the pickled mustard gravy, if not it would have been too numbingly spicy! Fragrant and interestingly tasty!
The way the fish was marinated was rly good! Tasty and savory. The radish slices did not soak up too much of the gravy, which is good (as it isn’t too salty). We took the option of adding in extra ingredients like lotus, crab sticks and enoki mushrooms, which made the dish more flavorful. The fish was also pretty big so a party of 3 would share one. Quite worth the queue if you are in no rush and want to try something different!
Loved this bowl of roasted pork & duck and Char Siew! The Char Siew was the main highlight though- much more tender and juicier than what I’ve ever tasted! Super big pieces of meat and the interior of the restaurant is very nicely done too. Well done Muttons!
Loved the texture of the noodles and how the sauce complemented the whole dish well (: the prawns were big and juicy too, worth a try!
The pork cartilage was tasty and good but the noodles were a little too plain - thought that the gravy/sauce from the pork would go well with the noodles but it seemed as though the sauce from the pork was drained away and served on top of a plain bowl of noodles... to each his own! Thankfully the dish came with soup that made the meal less dry.
