Green Tea Croissant ($5.20)
I have been looking forward to this croissant. There is a hint of matcha but it probably will not satisfy most matchaholics. However, it is not too sweet and the texture is great for a croissant!
Kouign Amann ($4.50)
Flaky, buttery and with the flavours of caramel, this is worth the calories and highly recommended! Will definitely buy again!
Lemon Tart ($7.50)
Tangy and not too cloying, there is a nice tart to it and every bite was delightful. Some might find it sour but I love it!

Located conveniently just 5 minutes away from Tanjong Pagar MRT is Baristart Coffee, a Hokkaido cafe that serves Japanese food with great coffee. I was pleasantly greeted with Japanese Hip Hop in this spacious cafe that has a relaxed vibe. The simple interior with an open glass ceiling allows natural sunlight to shine right in, providing the perfect lighting for your next instastory. Alright, let’s talk about their caffeine.
You will wish your complexion is as smooth as this cup of Latte. And that is not an exaggeration. The milk (Brown Jersey Milk from Biei) that they use gives the white coffee the richness and that hint of sweetness, a major factor for this winning recipe.
For this cafe, the Brown Jersey Milk from Biei is the star of the show and forms the backbone not just for the coffee but many of the dishes too. I will definitely be back again if I have the chance. After all, we all need a coffee break.

The BIEI Milk Coffee that is served cold probably brings out the full flavour of the milk best. The subtle sweetness and wonderful creamy mouthfeel definitely won me over in just a few sips.

How can I end my visit without trying their decadent Cream Puff. The choux pastry is light and crispy. It is huge and loaded with velvety custard. Oh, that beautiful beautiful custard that oozes out when you cut the puff. Delicious.

Loving the minimalist vibes in this cafe. It makes you want to put away your phone and start a conversation. I went for the White and my friend went for the chocolate with orange notes. Both are not bad but as a coffee enthusiast, I definitely prefer the coffee with milk.
It’s a nice place to chill and slow down. You are pretty much here just for the beverages and the seating space is quite limited. On the bright side, if you are here for a conversation and manage to find seats, it’s a great place.
