Nourishing Eight Treasures Peach Collagen dessert from @ManFuYuanSG. In recent years, peach gum has gained popularity among Asians for its nutritional properties. At just a fraction of the price of bird's nest, peach gum is rich in amino acids, and allows collagen to be easily absorbed into the body.

It was a refreshing dessert to wrap up our 5-course set. And of course, I wouldn't mind having younger, smoother skin! 😜 We like the food enough to return, just after our Weekend Brunch a few weeks back. Hee hee. 👍

TGIF! It's a long Deepavali weekend in Singapore, wished we had planned a short getaway. 😊

For now, here's a throwback to our afternoon tea break in Hong Kong. Food there costs generally lower than in Singapore, with all these food for 3 persons at @LawMarkKeeLMK, a cafe at @CityGateOutlets, costing HK$128 (S$22): beef noodles, pork chop noodles, egg & luncheon meat sandwich and 3 milk teas.

Managed to squeeze in time for lunch today at Tsui Wah's 2nd and latest branch at Heeren! Surprisingly, I was ushered to a seat immediately at the 2nd floor alfresco area (though indoor seating would have required a 30 to 45-minute wait).

The food promptly arrived within 15 minutes. While the pork chop could have been more tender, it was juicy and the golden-brown toasted butter bun made up for it (swipe ⬅️ to view the bun). What really stole the show though was the Hong Kong Milk Tea (S$3.50++) ☕, served super-hot with the right proportion of tea and milk.

Overall, I would say that service was prompt and attentive. Though the prices seemed slightly higher than what I recalled (at the Clarke Quay branch), I would return for that cup of milk tea - and also reminisce that taste of Hong Kong that I probably won't get any time soon.

This long weekend is a wonderful time to catch up with family and friends. Back at Full of Luck again today with the family and finally got to try this dish!

Overall, my parents commented that the food here is very flavourful, yet not too salty or oily. Almost like homecooked. Now, that's the seal of approval by my folks, so you can bring your family here too! 😍

August - the month of family celebrations and gatherings for us. ❤️

We chose the Silver Needle set (S$118++/pax) for my mother-in-law's birthday and this noodles was clearly my favourite amongst the dishes. The lobster was really flavourful and there was such a generous serving of lobster meat in there!

Btw, have you heard that egg noodles/ 伊面 🍜 is eaten on birthdays as a symbol of longevity? 😜

Served hot and stuffed with lots of pork and chicken fillings, the meat was overall very soft and tender. This dish was definitely a lot of substance and no filler, really yummy and especially recommended for those who like chicken wings but don’t want to get their hands dirty (like me! 😆).

Remember to dip those wings into the restaurant’s homemade chilli sauce for that extra oomph!🌶️

A unique interpretation of the oh-so-familiar roast chicken, this was another invitingly aromatic dish. Get your camera ready on “video” mode as the lid is lifted and the smoke is dramatically revealed.

Every piece of chicken was infused with a distinct pu-er tea fragrance and possessed a crispy exterior. Despite being cooked for over 13 hours, the meat was overall still tender, particularly the drumstick/ thigh area.

Our favourite was the poached rice. (And that’s from someone who is not really a fan of pumpkin.) We heard that the pumpkin broth was slowly cooked to perfection for many hours. Indeed, the crispy bits, flavourful broth, fresh fish, mushrooms and wolfberries made for a really dynamic, sublime gastronomic experience. And it felt like a really healthy and nutritious dish for sure.

First time at Forest森 at @Sentosa_Island and I had to say that we were impressed by the overall quality. This lobster was really fresh and the meat fell off its shell really easily. Swipe ⬅️ for more pics.

Available as part of the 5-course set (S$88++) but we had it at 1-for-1 using @Mastercard. Definitely satiated from the dining experience and of course the good deal. 😜

This was one really nourishing bowl of double-boiled soup with black chicken, fish maw, cordyceps, fish maw and wolfberries. It's unusual for a French restaurant to offer Chinese food as well, but this was definitely done well.

I have a really bad habit of eating food when it's relatively more cooled down (because I need to quickly swallow and can hardly taste my food when it's "burning" my throat 😅), but soup is an exception. Must be drunk hot! ❤️

This rice dumpling was the highlight of our lunch! A savoury parcel packed with tender slow-braised Kurobuta pork belly, black truffle, wholesome quinoa, salted egg yolk, chestnut and conpoy, this 粽子 was so flavourful and satisfying. I am not quite a fan of rice, but the generous portions of wholesome ingredients made this so good!
