A specialty here is the miso soymilk broth and it’s pretty interesting! Very creamy (milky too) with a touch of sweetness – might not be into it if you don’t like the sweet-savoury combo. Worth a try if you’re here.
Pretty yummy wagyu katsu, done to a dark and pinkish medium rare. While crunchy and tasty, the batter felt almost overpowering when trying to really appreciate the beef’s flavour.
The upside is you’re getting a good amount of beef, omelette and greens on a fat bed of rice — surely worth what you’re paying in this part of town. The dish also comes with a yummy curry mayo dip and miso soup!
Ginger granita and crushed lychees are a perfect flavour match. The jackfruit sorbet is stellar – oh so creamy and refreshing! Love the touch of the sago balls too for extra bite.
The name’s no stranger - we’ve had Niko Neko matcha at countless cafes, so it’s nice to finally see them shine in a space of their own. We had house favourite Ren Matcha in its Iced Latte format (you can also choose to have it neat, on ice or with hot milk). Brothy and extremely fragrant with an almost seaweed-like umami finish.
Important to keep in mind that the green tea here is of prime quality, and not at all comparable to the bittersweet, instant matcha-y drinks we’re used to. Come ready to surprise your taste buds!
In frame: Mutton Thali (RM18) & Mango Lassi (RM8). Each small dish - dahl, masala potatoes, green beans, yoghurt and tender mutton was packed with flavour. Definitely a bargain! The roti and crispy papadum that it was served with was decent as well. Have a refreshing mango lassi as well.
