The bbq meats were super juicy! Marinated pork ribs was my favourite! Shabu shabu soup was very much welcomed to cleanse the palate! Grilled pineapples were surprising good! Seafood pancake with the accompany spicy sauce dip was so good!

Okinawa Avo-Coconut Shake with Okinawa Jelly ($6.80 + $1.20 for large cup + $1 for toppings): Brown sugar + coconut shake + avocado milk shake was such a good choice! I opted 25% sugar for this. But on hindsight, possible to go even lower 0% sugar since there is brown sugar in this drink! Okinawa jelly matches this drink perfectly! Love the silky smooth jelly!

Rock Melon Avocado Shake with Sakura Pearl ($5.60 + $1.20 for large cup + $1 for toppings): This combi was so good! I also love the very pretty pink shade of sakura pearls which has a chewy texture, like konjac jelly. Love it!

Besides the above two mentioned toppings, they also have many other super interesting topping choices to choose from (additional $1 each):

Not just original min jiang kueh with peanut / coconut fillings. I love these charcoal and matcha mee jeng kueh! Although the matcha/ charcoal taste is very slight, but colourful makes me happy! Friends Cafe HK 朋友冰室!

We reached 20mins past opening time, and there was already a snaking long queue. It took us around 30mins of waiting before we finally got in! Food was served pretty fast though as Hong Kong is all about instant comfort food.

French Toast with Peanut Butter ($3.50): I must say this is the MUST ORDER ITEM! I absolutely love this! Buttery, fragrant, crispy!

Stir-fried charsiew and egg with white rice ($6.50): Got this item because it was highly raved by others from the reviews I read. But no, this item is a no no for me. The egg wasnt the silky scrambled egg type, it was the chinese-style 99% cooked kind. I also didnt like the super fatty charsiew as I am not a fan of fatty char siew meats. This item was just on the drier side, with no sauce and a not scrambled dry egg.

Chicken Chop Rice with black pepper sauce ($7.50 set meal with half a slice of butter toast and luncheon meat): Ordered this item because it was also highly raved. I like the black pepper sauce given for this dish! I also like how lots of black pepper sauce was given, if not it will be quite hard for me to eat plain dry rice. Chicken Chop was on the dry side too, but still alright. Luncheon meat comfort food! The toast with butter can skip, the toast was quite hard, and not as nice as the french toast. (I suspect most ppl do not eat this free toast? The cashier staff even asked us when ordering whether we wanted the free toast, when you would have expected them to give without asking. Most prob to reduce food wastage)

Iced kumquat tea ($2.2): Tastes like yuzu, with some kumquat pulp in it! Paid 20 cents more for the iced tea option, but the drink came hot with ice cubes given. LOL ok, so i paid 20 cents for the few little ice cubes. But I guess that’s how iced tea drinks are served in Hong Kong too. Haha too funny to me.

All in all, paid about $20 for the meal for 2 pax. Whether I will come back again, not really. To me, Hong kong’s comfort food is something I think I can cook at home too! For the experience since one can’t travel, sure why not!

Dinner was preplanned in advance using CHOPE (and using promo code CHOPE99 to earn double points this week). While lunch was an impromptu suggestion from colleague - and that's how I ended up eating 2 pasta meals in one day.🙊 Opted for clams in white wine coz I was trying to avoid cheese (as the mushroom pasta I had for lunch caused me problems again hurhur). But there were sand here and there in the clams. 😐 first and last time eating vongole clam pasta ($11++). As for the pizza, we had the bacon with mushroom ($13++). It is super crispy and has a stronger taste of the prawn paste as compared to normal zhichar stalls which are really just like normal chicken wings to me. Glad that the $1/wing deal was still available ytd when we reached (our cycling trip from yishun to seletar trip failed due to the rain). Normal price is $1.70/wing, min 2 pieces per order. We also tried li Fang's chicken congee for the $1 sampling portion. And we ditched the $1 iceball to go for the normal priced dessert, because it wasn't worth it to pay $1 for ice and syrup . There were soooo many (new) F&B brands there!! we had 75% of our meal in putien so that we had space to try other food! We tried Itea's aloe vera passion fruit green tea ($2.90) and the Korean honey garlic fried chicken ($3.90). But we didn't quite like the fried chicken.
