Fish n chips might not be the dish one might choose to order here but surprisingly it was well executed. Lightly battered catch of the day (haddock) served with housemade tartar sauce, thick hand cut fries and vinaigrette salad. The fish was fresh and the batter was crispy yet not oily. RM45 per dish.
W1’s signature beetroot pasta is a hit among the vegetarians and the carnivores. A warm bowl of comforting spaghetti cooked in rich beetroot purée topped with a dollop of feta cheese mousse. When you savour the first spoon, you knew the beetroot sauce was made out of real beet with a hint of mushroom. The cheese mousse was silky smooth and well balance with the sauce. I highly recommend those who are on a meatless diet to try this. RM16 per serving.
It’s been a while since I had a real good British Scotch Eggs. Remember each time when I head down to Borough market, I would definitely get my cravings fix as there’s an artisan store that sells one of the best scotch egg for picnic snack.
W1 Scotch Egg reminds me of those moment and taste no different than the ones in Great Britain. In fact, their version is so mean! Warm, crispy shelled beef meat encased around a perfectly cooked soft boiled egg served with a bed of Curry AĂŻoli and pickled red onions. Pickled onions enhance the flavours and cut through those greasy aioli. This dish definitely worth the calories! RM16 per serving.
