The black pepper gravy was thick in texture and in flavor. Fried rice was not too dry nor too wet.
However, due to the increase in rental and other operating costs, hawkers have to increase in selling price and that does not equate to higher profit. They might be getting the same profit from selling at $5 to selling at $7.50. The difference in the price hike mostly goes to levy, rental increase, food costs' increase.
But this does not do justice to the stall, the owner and the food. Customers will be deterred from patronising again because of the price difference.
Good hawker stalls need to be preserved in the local food heritage. They speaks Singapore!

It is located at basement one of Capitol Plaza, Food Republic.

The soup was a tad too salty. The noodle however taste eggy and it is firm and bouncy. It comes with a dumpling, yakitori stick, egg, fish maw and minced pork.
It was accompanied with pork lard!

$3.50 Laksa with no cockles
Served with tau pok, fishcake and boiled egg.

As Fei siong speaks for its brand, the flavor of the laksa is quite standard with the right amount of coconut milk and chili.

They have a deep fryer to fry some items which are more suitable for frying unlike most YTF stalls whereby they will just dump all to boil.

1% of the time, i am actually posting while i am eating because it is so good that i do not wanna waste time spreading the word. And today is the 1%. It is my 1st time having a hokkien mee topped with crispy fried anchovies and lard. It certainly add a whole new dimension of texture and taste to the dish.
The broth was mild but when u squeeze a dime of lime and mixed it with the chilli, the overall flavor was well balanced.
Defintely one of my comfort food!
