Nasi lemak fans, look no further! This self-service eatery allows you to create your own nasi lemak ingredients from a delectable spread of the usual suspects (fried chicken wing, fried fish, ikan billis etc) and other ‘premium’ items like curry dishes. What you pay depends on the items that you pick.
I chose the ikan kuning, otah, omelette and sayur lodeh to go with the rice, which was softer than usual (in a good way) as it is steamed instead of boiled. The texture was really yummy and addictive. With my iced tea, the total bill was only $7!
Oh, and did I mention that the rice and sambal are free flow?
Been wanting to try this place out as I was attracted by their offer of healthier, MSG-free and more balanced hawker food.
I went for the Crispy Fish Fillet Nasi Lemak ($5.90) which came with breaded fish cake, fried egg, ikan billis, cabbage and a poppadom. The latter was one of my favourite parts of the meal. Super tasty and crispy!
If I hadn’t been pescatarian, I would’ve ordered the grilled chicken version, which looked better. Not sure if the nasi lemak was any healthier, but at least it had veggies (which I believe differ every week)!

Sometimes the best food in a restaurant isn’t necessarily the most instagrammable dish :)
