Places I’d Revisit
Really glad we ordered this! Juicy roast duck pieces wrapped in smooth rice rolls... the sauce was good too! Must try!
The soup was super tasty, with tender, fatty pieces of meat. Came with pieces of taupok and taukee that soaked up the soup like savoury pockets of deliciousness. Chinese style mutton soup is so hard to find, and this is a good one!
Picked up some healthy takeout tonight! I got the Brown Rice and Lemongrass Tofu with Curried Cashews & the muffin of the day, which happened to be Papaya-Banana. I find it tough to enjoy brown rice, no matter how many times I try, but those curried cashews were something else! 😋 I paid $12 in total, well worth it for an entirely vegan meal.
Bakuteh is always a good choice for a hearty and affordable meal! I generally prefer the herbal sort, but Song Fa is def in my top two when I feel like having peppery soup. Bill was less than $40 for all pictured.
Ming Xing Fish Porridge. My go to for fish beehoon soup! The fish is always so fresh, and the soup is light and peppery. Perfect for a late dinner, they stay open till 1030pm. Portions come either $4/$5/$7.
A must order from Nando’s! I pop by to get this as take out from time to time. The livers are over cooked sometimes, but I still love this dish. You get to pick the sauce you want, and I like the Lemon & Herb best. Comes with a Portuguese roll.
These noodles look plain, but are packed with flavour! I didn’t even need to add the sambal chilli that was available on every dining table. Each bowl came with generous amounts of char siew, pork lard, and greens. Complimentary soup had prawns and wantons. The noodles alone were so yummy, and the absolute best part of the dish.
I loved this! Tasty rice roll (I picked purple rice), with stewed egg, pork floss, seaweed, emperor veg, coleslaw. Will try the red rice next!
Purple rice soya was delicious too, tasted like pulot hitam and was light on the sugar which enhanced the taste of the purple rice.
These Pan Fried Shanghai Pork Buns were so good! Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, with soup encased like a surprise in the center. A must order!
Also had the Pork & Vegetable Dumplings in Pork Bone Soup. Tasty and comforting.
Dim sum at its best. Flaky, savoury, melt in your mouth goodness.
So much fun, and delicious to boot! We had a great time tasting the xlb rainbow. The ginseng was my least favorite, the szechuan was the best one, hands down.

They have a less spicy option for people adverse to too much chilli but it's still as delicious with the crunchy beans and silky smooth noodles adding welcome texture.

They recently moved to a bigger sized outlet in Far East but thankfully the food is still as good as ever
