A hearty plate of char kuey teow (RM6) required good amount of wok hei, and this place is one of my go to. It has a decent amount of beansprout and chives which adds a nice crunch and freshness, and also cockles (siham) which for me is what makes the dish so good. The best point of this stall is their char kiey teow is not as oily as some other places I have tried. You can ask the cook to spice it up for you if you are into spicy plate of noods.

Dry chilli pan mee (RM9.50) is pretty legit. Good amount of ingredients such as anchovies, minced pork, fried shallot and half boiled egg that added into the dish which blend perfectly with their fresh handmade noodle, feel free to challenge yourself with their belacan chilli. I prefer 3 scoops of chilli but if I am feeling spicy, I could add up to 6 scoops. Their lu rou fan (braised pork rice) is pretty good too btw, smaller serving size but just nice for a quick lunch.

For a vegetarian meal, this is definitely my go to. The curry mee hoon (RM6) has loads of ingredients added such as fried mushroom, vegetarian char siew and roast duck. Their broth is really thick and flavourful you cant tell it has no meat in it. They usually sold out around 12pm, so do come by and enjoy it as early as possible.

Char siew sauce kampua mee (RM8.50) is my favourite kind of kampua mee from their place. The sweet and salty char siew sauce is really delicious, pairing with their bbq char siew is just so good. If you are new to kampua mee, do try out the original dry version too!

One of my favourite food from their place is the spaghetti carbonara. It is super creamy yet not jelak with an perfectly cooked onsen egg added on top. Do try out their signature pork bacon and peach pizza too! The sweet and savoury combination is unique yet still delicious.

A very legit, aunthentic bowl of hakka mee (RM6.50). They cooked their noodles to perfection, toss them in homemade pork lard, served with some minced pork and fried shallot. As a hakka-ian myself, i coulditerally eat this everyday. 🍜👌🏻

Their tomato soup (RM8.50) has a thick but still soupy consistency, sweet and slightly sour, yet still packs with savoury flavour. You can choose your own noodle (hor fun, mee, bee hoon, yee mee, maggie mee, etc), and I picked bee hoon as it absorbs all the goodness from the soup and makes it thousand times better.
A very generous amount of meat and veggies are given in each bowl such as pork belly slices, pork balls, intestines, minced pork meat, cabbages and onions. it is really delicious, affordable and worth a try.

One of their signature in this food court is the brown sugar boba milk tea (RM6.90), a very classic kopitiam teh with brown sugar boba, just so good. 🖤
The sarawak noodle (RM7) is pretty good out of so many I have tried, the price is very affordable for a quality like this, their charsiew has fatty parts which makes it super tender, flavourful and delicious.

Pad thai (RM10.90)
Spicy thai fried rice noodle with prawns. I love how chewy the noodle is, crushed peanuts at the side added some crunchiness to the dish too. But the dish is lack of a little freshness despite I have squeezed the lime wedge serve at side. But overall I would say this is a pretty tasty pad thai. 🍲

Spicy and sour brown rice vermicelli noodle soup (RM15.90) is my go-to dish when I dine at Simple Life restaurant. The dish may not look spicy nor sour. The spiciness of this noodle soup is actually came from chilli padi and ginger, while the sour is came from the pickled veggies. They also add five grain powder to the soup as additional health nutrition. The serving size is very huge and it is definitely worth the price. We also ordered fruit tea (RM18.90) along with our meal. This is a very refreshing tea, it has tanginess from the passion fruit and refreshing taste from all the thinly sliced fruits that is stipping together with the green tea bag. The price for this tea is expensive to me tho.

A very classic must-eat Sabah food when you are there. Sang nyuk mian literally translated to raw meat noodle, but they do cook the meat pieces to perfection and the texture is very soft and tender, dipping them into their homemade chilli sauce, heaven in my mouth! At Ding Xiang, you can choose either noodle soup or dry noodle with pork ball and meat (RM9) or with inner parts (RM9). He prefer to have yellow noodle (pure Sabahan) while I prefer mine with mix of mee hoon and yellow noodle. When Sabahan eat sang nyuk mian, a glass of teh C (RM3) is essential for them, it is like a combination of peanut butter and jelly.
