Al Dante Aglio olio with black olive and loads of chili flakes topped with deep fried soft shell crab. The spaghetti was quite tasty with a hint of citrusy taste. RM35 per serving.

Cliché name for my morning cup of latté at this new one stop co-working, bar, B&B and café where great minds and ideas meet together. Using local single origin coffee beans, it was slightly mild & nutty. RM12 per cup.
Grilled Beef Yakiniku served with capsicum on warm steam rice. This is such a steal for the price paid and the amount of medium cooked beef slices covered the entire rice...with that slightly sweet savoury sauce taste amazing. RM19 per serving.
This minimalist café along a quiet alley of Lorong Dewan serves artisanal pastries, brew beverages, daily English breakfast and Asian twist modern carbs like pasta and rice. Love the white plain wooden setting and a shelf full of reading materials that provides their patron a tranquil place to enjoy their hand crafted beverages or decent meal. My Hojicha Latté was smooth and sans sucré! RM11 per glass.
CAMACA’s gelato uses freshest raw ingredients and what makes it special is you get to savour these indulgence that’s sugar free and low fat which is suitable for dietary restriction patients like diabetes and ADHD children. The Sesame Banana has a smooth texture, less sesame taste but a strong banana based topped with crunchy homemade chocolate sticks and water. You can taste that this gelato is less sweeter that normal gelato and some after taste from the stevia in it. RM15.90 per serving.
Located at Bandaran Berjaya, Ampersand feels like any one of those identical old shop lots from the outside but once you enter the café, it looks totally different as the interior is a mixture of wooden tables and chairs as well as a lounging area with old cinema chairs. There is also a mezzanine area which allowed people to work at the desks and sip on their hand crafted beverages. I tried on their black latté which I believe made out of activated charcoal and espresso shots served with a old school pineapple cookie. Would say this place is suitable for people who like to catch up with friends over decent cakes and coffee or work if don’t mind the wait for more than 10minutes to get your cup of brew beverage. RM12.50 per cup of latté.
This was once my favourite restaurant for Nasi Kerabu. Famously known for their butterfly pea rice, Uncle Garry Recipe has recently shifted to a shop lot in City Mall Kota Kinabalu. This time round, I opted for their stuffed squid. Sadly to say, they didn’t keep up to their usual standard. The grains were hard, they forgotten the salted egg which was an important element. The set comes with a butterfly pea drink and two tiny Nyonya Kueh topped with Kaya. RM26.80 per serving.
Uncle Gary’s Blue butterfly pea flower rice (Nasi Kerabu) has grown popularity among the locals past 2 years. Famous for its Instagramable butterfly peas dishes and yet delectable. It’s plate of blue rice contains salted egg, pickles, sambal, julienne herbs, chopped long beans and crackers. You have the choice to pair the rice with either fried chicken, rendang beef, fried fish or even squid. Also each serving comes with 2 Nyonya Kueh and a butterfly pea flower drink. Chicken RM17 and Rendang beef RM22.
