Subang: Where To Try
If you're wondering, no I didn't spell that wrong. This is literally a soft shell crab burger filled with carbs and more carbs on the side, but am I complaining? No, because this burger was SOO good. The soft shell crab was not-so-heavily battered and fried to perfection. Oh and the generous side of sweet potato fries, even though they were slightly too "skinny" for my liking, were still flavorful and addictive. I've only been to a few burger places so I rate this a 3/5 stars ✨ Unfortunately it was a little too oily for me or else I would've rated it a 4/5
This tummy-filling dish, known as Casablanca Eggs, is better than a rice bowl with poached egg. What's inside the pan: Aussie style baked eggs in tomato purée with a hint of spiciness, two additional runny eggs and homemade sausage which is very much different and tastier than the frozen pre-packed sausages you can usually find in supermarkets. It also comes with a side of bread for dipping (get it in there already!). One bite is all it takes for the rich tomato purée to burst with flavors in your mouth and leave your tastebuds begging for more!
On my journey of trying to cut down on rice, I ended up here, at a Syrian restaurant, for mother's day dinner. How not to eat rice at an Arabic restaurant?!
It is possible. Get kebab. I've grown fond of Mozer's chicken kebab, tbh because they're separated from their vegetables. This plate of shish kebab kash kash is good. It has chicken and some nuts and good gravy, served with Arabic bread. Can't go wrong at all.
Decked out in bright-orange walls and loud Mexican menus, Mezcla makes a chipper addition to the otherwise mellow USJ9 belt. Visit this trendy location to mix things up for team lunch or save it for a fun dinner with friends. The burrito bar turns out all your typical Tex-Mex hits, from tacos to quesadillas and burrito bowls. But if it's your first time here, let their namesake burritos win you over. Each is a chunky roll chock-full of rice, corn, beans, tomato salsa and your choice of protein. Frontrunners include the Braised Lamb (RM14.90) that surprises with a hint of mint as well as the Chilli Garlic Shrimp (RM14.90), oozing with a lush, garlicky concoction. Remember to also stop by the sauce station for their housemade red or green jalapeno mayo sauces — these make everything extra satisfying. For an additional RM3, the meal comes with a side of tortilla chips and a drink — we liked their bottled guava juice. If there is space for more sides, snag an order of Avocado Fries (RM11.90), deftly deep-fried for crunchy batter and creamy insides.

SS15 folks will be happy to vouch for Uncle Soon's fried rice in corner coffeeshop Restoran Foh Foh. A popular pick in the day, the place sees crowds swarming at lunch, so make this a dinner destination instead — it's also much cooler at night. Always — we repeat — always order the Char Siew Fried Rice (from RM7). Fried in a searing hot wok, the rice is packed with fragrant wok hei in every grain. You can count on a perfectly fried oozy egg to blanket the rice, while the luscious char siew bits give it a yummy meaty flavour. The dish is plenty delicious on its own, but also try it with the side of homemade sambal belacan. Recommended by Uncle Soon himself, the gleaming red sauce adds a saltish, spicy edge to the meal.
