Balestier Eats
Grub is tucked away behind Balestier Road but walkable from Toa Payoh Central. Great lunch sets at $12 for a fruity fizzy drink plus bowl of grilled chicken oyakodon, or their delicious beef noodles with both minced and sliced beef. I was surprised a hidden place like this in Home Team club could be this good.
A little restaurant at the corner of Balestier Road, but serve fantastic food cze char style. Their chicken was light to taste, and skin was crispy with bits of fried garlic sprinkled on top. Delicious and must try!
贊!Really authentic HK style comfort food. The type that gives your tummy that warm fuzzy feeling. The minced beef well is virtually unlocatable was my first impression. And having seen how good their signature 王子炒飯 Mentaiko fried rice when it was served in the next table, I was beginning to regret. But as soon as you take the first spoonful, you will be overwhelmed by that beefy flavour. The rice is also grainy, retaining the fullness (hardness) of frying rice raw. Only criticism would be its a tad oily, but that's how authentic 熱炒 would be. Really pleased to have tried this place. It's a gem!
There is no advert nor fanfare on social media but it's always crowded during dinner time. Was finally able to try this (since I'm still stuck at home studying 😂).

Pistachio is helmed by Egyptian born Chef Khaled that used to be from Shangri-la. I got the Lebanese Platter according to the lady's (I'm assuming she's the lady boss) reccomendation. Charbroiled chicken skewer w harrisa was super tender. And the garlic yoghurt sauce on the salad was perfect 🤤 The saffron basmati rice was v fragrant and at $14.90 for this, it was a steal! Will definitely be coming back to try their dinner dishes(if I can get seats!) #burpple #mediterranean #sgfood #stfoodtrending #lebanese
