I would say their topokki is unique because of the highly concentrated hot pepper sauce/gravy which is redder than other Korean food joints but they do lack some extra toppings like sesame seeds and spring onion. Their rabokki was modestly portioned but it does come with a side of Kimbap. Itās around RM20 for this whole set which includes a drink and free banchan refills but I am so disappointed that there are only 2 banchans available which makes the free refills lose their appeal. Overall it was an okay rabokki but I do wish they incorporated some veggies like cabbage and carrots as fillers to the dish.
This is a mixed/economy rice store that opened here a while back to replace OldTown Kopitiam. It opens until 10-11pm so itās basically a haven for those looking for economically priced homecooked style Chinese food near their housing area in Taman Megah or Taman SEA. However, the quality has declined recently as their food is very salty compared to other mixed rice places and there is one lady boss who is super calculative towards your food and inspects it like the US TSA, thus charging you an exorbitant amount for your food. Itās a considerable selection of dishes though so I would only go there for the sake of convenience and somewhat reasonable price compared to restaurant fare. There is free water/tea and soup though so thereās that.
The burgers here are breathtakingly scrumptious. The patties are nice and thick and they are super generous with ingredients and literally flood your burger with sauces. This is how a Ramly burger is supposed to taste like and I am pleasantly surprised that such a treasure is only accessible through local food delivery apps like GrabFood and Foodpanda.
The food from the Wok stall is alright, but it wasnāt great š¤·š»āāļø
The uniqueness of this laksa joint is that the hae ko(fermented shrimp paste) for the asam laksa is self-service, so you can literally drown your laksa in that savoury hae ko if you so wish šI value my tastebuds though, so I am not so bold haha š
If there was any takoyaki joint I would recommend to a Malaysian, the first name that comes to mind is Gindaco because the quality of the balls are consistent and they are fairly generous with the toppings. Not to mention the presentation and food decoration is spectacularly instagram-worthy š My mum got me hooked on the Teritama flavour which I initially had doubts on but the sweetness of the egg salad mingled so well with the Takoyaki, you just canāt stop at one ball!
I come here occasionally because the Szechuan-style cooking gets me every time. Ironically though, their lowest spicy level kills my appetite too soon due to its unique piquancy(thanks Szechuan peppercorns) so I usually go for their āUnique Flavourā non-spicy style which at least still comes fried with sesame seeds and peanuts. Itās very much worth it if you come in a group and share a big bowl complete with noodles/rice, but alone it can be hard to estimate how much food is enough and since the price of your meal is determined by weight, it can be easy to rack up a high price eating alone, especially if youāre a meat lover because meat items have a higher charge per unit weight. In summary, this would be best for friends and family who love Mala steamboat but donāt want the hassle of cooking the food in a pot in front of them š
Kinoko/Mushroom Udon - RM12

Sushi Tsen is a popular fast casual Japanese restaurant which has been in Atria since its early days(together with its sister restaurant, Teppan Tsen directly adjacent to it). They focus on selling many Japanese favourites, especially sushi and sushi rolls at attractive affordable prices. My mum likes to order this because it's one of the cheapest mains on the menu, plus it tastes excellent to boot. This dish comes with your choice of noodle(udon, soba or ramen) in a hearty thick, viscous broth of fresh mushrooms. This is topped with dried bonito flakes and seaweed to give extra oomph to the umami already present in the mushrooms. I liked this dish as well, but admittedly I like my meals with more meat in them. Service here was excellent and the restaurant has a nice open-concept layout.

Piggy Fries - RM16.50
Grilled Pork Chop - RM12.50

Eating at Uncle Don's again! This was a relatively porky meal as I was very enthusiastic to try their luncheon meat fries. The portion was quite generous, although the fries were cut too thinly for my liking. The homemade chili sauce on the side was very delicious and we couldn't stop dipping the fries into it. The grilled pork chop was lean and tasty with spice, but it did feel somewhat hard to chew/dry. The Butter Rice Pork Chop actually features 2 pork chops which makes it more hearty for the same exact price, but I'll reveal that in another post perhaps. I love the free self-service water here though, it really makes coming here value-for-money.

Flavorful Satay Salad - RM19.90
Passion Mango Salad - RM19.90
Honey Green Tea - RM3.50

Once again, I am eating at this new concept restaurant which provides healthy options at fast food prices. I went for the Flavorful Satay Salad Bowl this time which is two large sticks of Satay made of Hericium and Eryngii Mushrooms as the main protein and drizzled with peanut sauce and chopped peanuts. Below it is a salad of broccoli, cauliflower, edamame, iceberg lettuce, corn, cherry tomatoes, pumpkin seeds, almonds, cashew nuts and beancurd. This was quite delicious and fresh but ultimately it was too light for me. The Flavorful Satay Rice Bowl is what you're looking for if you want a more substantial meal(it has the same price but with rice included!). My mother took the Passion Mango Salad which was fried mushrooms with fresh mango and passionfruit sauce on top of a salad of bean curd, broccoli, cauliflower, iceberg lettuce, corn, cherry tomatoes, edamame, pumpkin seeds, almonds and cashew nuts. Service and ambience was nice but the self-service style does take a while to get used to š

The caramel portion stood out the most with it's strong buttery vanilla taste. The chocolate was also really decadent and you just can't stop eating at it until it's all gone. All I wish is that they provided larger pie sizes but I understand that for health reasons they have to moderate the calories of the desserts, even if that means sacrificing volume.

Zinger Waffle Burger - RM14.30(after SST)
.
Okay, so I gave it some time before I started to review this new viral KFC burger because I understand that there were several complaints(the most predominant one concerns the lack of maple syrup) and I wanted to see if KFC handled them and changed the recipe after several weeks. It turns out that this experience was pretty good overall! The waffles were thick, soft and buttery, with a hint of sticky syrupy sweetness. They resemble liege waffles rather than traditional A&W-style buttermilk waffles. The Zinger chicken thigh had the right amount of crunch but the flesh layer was too thin for my liking and enjoyment. It felt like the thigh was mostly battered skin. They fixed the lack of syrup problem(at the Sunway branch at least) and the burger had just the right amount of moistness together with the generous amount of creamy mayonnaise. Overall I would rate this a 7/10 because this burger is actually quite huge and filling. The service at the Sunway Pyramid branch is rather slow and expect to queue long because they are understaffed. I would recommend going to the nearby outlet which is just outside the shopping mall(opposite the Oasis boulevard).
