Yan's Tea Picks
This was one of the recommended items in the menu however I was disappointed that they used UHT milk instead of Fresh Milk. But tastewise, it was still acceptable lah, unless you are a fresh milk purist š Anyways, if you pay by Favepay you will get a 5% cashback on your return purchase!
An 'unheard of' concoction (perhaps at least to me?) This totally took care of the extreme sweltering wednesday afternoon. I opted for 0% sugar and the drink became the healthiest beverage I drank today! I liked the addition of snow fungus. A tart-crunchy-refreshing drink!
This newly opened take out tea place has taken over AGantea. At $5.40 and the super large size I guess it's worth it. It was refreshing and slightly bittersweet plus there were 2 slices of grapefruit in it.
Oolong with fresh milk and butterfly pea pearls. Verdict: oolong was very light on palate and butterfly pea was squishy and a tad sweet IMO.
All the above were Fresh Milk teas (Native Black Tea, Oolong Lugo and Alpine). At $2.40 each, they were pretty worth it!!! Refreshing too. Thumbs up ššš
Just beside Courts Toa Payoh, this is their newest outlet. Tried their Brown Sugar Fresh Milk tea. It's currently $3.80 (U.P. $4.30).
Verdict: Super worth every calorie š
Each cup you order, is freshly brewed/made and do not come from the usual and ubiquitous tea dispensing containers. The staff were friendly š For a while, it did feel that I was transported to Taipei! Until the total amount for payment was in front of me, that is. I ordered 2 drinks (Red Jade cheese Tea and Tie Guan Yin latte) and it came to a total of $9.10.
This joint is one of the many bubble tea joints available in the revved up Northpoint City. (I actually got lost in the never ending maze of food and beverage options in the behemoth mall). Here I tried their "Taro Therapy stirring milk" drink. The bubbles were nondescript. The redeeming factor of this drink I think, would be the real Taro cubes used instead of some pseudo-Taro powder.
I must say I am in love with Taiwanese bubble tea having visited the country 3x in a year. These guys are the real deal! (Except for the price of course, but then again everything seem to be expensive here in good 'ol Singapura). Fresh Milk was used in the Matcha Latte ($4.20, M size). The Honey Pearls (+$0.70) were also freshly made. Overall I enjoyed the drink! I also tried their Cocoa Latte. You can choose the sugar level š
Say, cheeeese! This is a local brand using imported Taiwanese tea leaves. Pictured pretty is Sijichun Tea + Cheese, $4.90. Now, this is a "die die must try"! Was here pretty early and there wasn't any queue. Their fresh milk teas were not ready yet so I got myself 3 different types of cheese teas *0% sugar preference*. Having been on a cheese tea hunt the past week, I was stoked by the flavour profile of their cheese topping. Not being too fond of very sweet stuff, I was delighted that the cheese was more savoury salty than sweet. The tea itself was robust and pretty surprised that it was first put in a blender, poured into a tea shaker full of ice, and then poured into the cup and topped with the "fluffy cloud" i.e. cheese. Also, I totally dig the takeaway paperbag. Yoohoo time to partea..
Located near the taxi stand at 313 @ Somerset, this is the latest place dishing out cheese teas. Today I tried their Sakura Oolong Cheese Tea ($4.20) and their Peach Oolong fruit tea ($4.50). Both were equally good and the latter was super refreshing. The cheese tea exceeded my expectations too. The sweet-salty-creamy cheese definitely satisfied my "cheese tea hunting streak" tastebuds. š¤£ Definitely returning to try other combinations as they have a lot of other tea type options up for grabs.
Discovered this place quite by chance as I wanted to buy from another tea brand just a few steps away from this tea shop. Pleasantly surprised by the range of authentic Taiwanese Teas and healthier topping choices (no junk bubble tea here). I came here 4 days in a row straight after that to try most of the stuff in their menu. Their Aiyu jelly is succulent and not too sweet, super yums! A must try is all the teas in their Osmanthus series. I read somewhere that once you tried their teas, you will find it hard to go back to the other brands....I feel it's quite true! I'm going back again tomorrow. Pricewise: Comparable to other established tea brands. Service is smiley and welcoming š Don't forget to download their reward app!
