Carving out some girl-time over Nesuto Patisserie’s High Tea Set, the caged selection priced at $70.80+ for two ($45.90 for one, and $24.90 for the second pax) comes with a pretty competent assortment of sweets and savouries and a pot of tea with one refill to share.
Thus, focusing my attention first on the sweets, the Guanaja 70% Fleur de Sel cookies were my favourite - rich, slightly bitter and totally irresistible (I would have taken both in a heartbeat if my friend gave up her cookie). The part crisp and crumbly texture of the cookie and hint of saltiness was the bomb especially for dark chocolate lovers like myself. The Raspberry Matcha Opera Cake was also one of the highlights with the layered sweetness of the soft mousse and sponge; as well as the coat of chocolate tying the tangy fruitiness of raspberry together with the distinct flavour of matcha.
And for the savouries, the hearty Pulled Pork Sliders with their homemade coleslaw and delicate Truffle Mushroom Tartlette were pretty good. The tartlet shell being all buttery-rich and wonderfully textured. As for the pulled pork, it was nicely seasoned. Hence a delightful break from the sweet nibbles, the Salmon Avocado Taco too was well-executed with the crowd-pleasing combination.
*Do note that the items in the set are not fixed and it's really quite difficult to share a small pot of tea between two
After queue-ing for all the main dishes, is always good to end with a dessert.. this round, we tried the red teh jelly with longan. To our surprise, the sweetness for this is just nice.. the combination of evaporated milk together with the jelly give a refreshing feel.
A dessert that reminded me about snow white.. it was an awesome experience to eat this bingsu.. fresh ingredients go well with the milk and strawberry sauce. For strawberries fans, this is highly recommended!
