Not exactly the classic paella but I do like the bits of ham you find in the rice base and the clams were nice and plump. Definitely something to consider ordering when you use Burpple Beyond to go along with your other free main.
As part of the Burpple Beyond membership, you can enjoy 1-FOR-1 mains at Salt Tapas & Bar. I really liked this barramundi main as it was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. There’s a complexity of the textures you get with the crab, corn and these sort of pearls that felt like the ones you get in Bubble Tea.
Sounds like what you would order at an Indian restaurant, but it’s the type of stir fry that you would get with butter prawns. Really love the fragrance of the dish and it would be one of my must orders when I come back here.
I’m a fan of salted egg dishes and I’m a big fan of this dish. They have got it on point with the sauce as it’s not too dry, but the pork they use give it a really nice bite and flavour!
I’ve grown up not really liking Dou Miao, but I’m really enjoying it now especially when it’s prepared well. I like the flavour of the rich sauce of dried scallops and mushrooms that go with the Dou Miao that give that nice crunch and bite. Give me a plate of this any day!
Noodles, eggs and a broth to simply dip in. Sounds simple but it’s not and Sanpoutei knows how to do it right. Perfectly cooked noodles with a concentrated broth to coat each dip of the ramen noodles... bliss!
Just one look at this picture and you can imagine how nicely the sauce binds everything together. Love the various types of mushrooms that came with the dish and the tofu had a green spinach like topping to it that was delightful.
Chances upon this place following a walk around the office area to discover new places, and it was PACKED for a Wednesday night. I’ve always been a fan of simple flavours of salt & pepper when it comes to meats and always thought smoking would overpower the taste, but I’m starting to come around and appreciate a good smokehouse. We ordered a mix of Beef Short Plate ($11/100g), Smoked Pork Belly ($9/100g) and the behemoth Beef Short Rib ($11/100g) along with a side of coleslaw and sweet potato fries. Everything was really good and you can taste the quality of the meats they use! Make sure you wash it all down with a pint of beer to cap the full experience!
All meals should begin like this - Freshly baked bread served seconds after it comes out of the oven, and great quality dips for you enjoy with it. We ordered the burnt miso hommus, baba ganoush, and a spinach and plum dip (my favourite) and loved them all! You might want to resist the temptation to order more bread as it’ll fill you up before your mains arrive, but I won’t judge you if you did because the dips are amazing!
There’s a common misconception that you can’t eat pork pink... but if you haven’t then this dish is a great introduction for you to try it out. My favourite part was the thick jus that coated every bite. And I’m such a sucker for roasted red onions, so this dish was awesome!
The chicken served here are all super moist and plump, and frankly it doesn’t really need much of the sauce because it’s already so flavourful. The cranberry sauce is slightly too sweet for me, but I do like the combination of the whole grain mustard to cut through the sweetness.
A very unfamiliar combination for me, but when it was pitched to me as a lunch idea I thought that it would work and it does. I love the chicken rice and even had two bowls! While it’s not the best chicken rice you’ll have, or steamboat for that matter, it’s nice to find hidden gems like these places and it’s another location to add variety to our lunch plans.
