Really one of the best cream puffs in town! Thanks @huanminn 😘 #midweek #creampuff #burpple #burpplesg #dessert #midweektreat #chateraise @chateraise.singapore
Hard-pressed to choose just one drink? Grab your friends and head down to Waan Cha tomorrow between 12 to 5pm because they'll be offering a ONE-FOR-ONE promotion in celebration of their official opening!
I'm hardly a coffee person, but my favourite has to be the Thai White Coffee and the "yuan yang" Thai Coffee Milk Tea (not pictured). Also, check out new beverages: Almond Milk (another of my faves!), Almond Coffee, and Thai Ovaltine!
Crispy toast on the outside complimented with the velvety warm Thai milk tea that flows like a river when you open it up. Despite it being one of the pricer thick toasts in Singapore, it is something that I don't mind paying for again.

The menu at Tai Cheong Bakery, a household name in Hong Kong, is scant but focused. Previously a pop-up at Takashimaya's Food Hall, the bakery has settled for a permanent takeaway counter in Takashimaya's basement two. Look out for its signature teal signboard and long snaking queue — yes, be prepared to wait in line for at least two hours to get your hands on their famous Egg Tarts ($7.60 box of four)! Nothing quite comes close to the sheer buttery, flaky crust and smooth custard filling. Apart from the egg tarts, there are four other offerings on the menu, including a Chicken Pie ($2.80), Char Siew Bolo Bun ($2.20) and a Sponge Cupcake ($1.50).

An amazing unexepected cake of passion fruit with gula melaka and caramel chocolate ! Texture is very smooth and flavour's taste is appetizing !
Love this cake ! Definitely no regret for 2nd visit 😊
Classic Toast, portion too huge and sweet XD Two scoops of Vanilla ice cream (ice cream was quite okay) and the toast was very dry and even though they help to cut the toast, but the bread was too big. Price wise, it was pretty expensive, $16.90 😂😂 hmm.. Wouldn't come here for the toast, but would come here for the tea and milkshake 😊😇
Despite its less than prominent entrance and lack of signboard (it's next to Thian Hock Keng Temple along Telok Ayer Street), this cafe is proving to be really popular, especially among the lunch crowd. Named after one of Singapore's earliest schools, this cafe infuses Peranakan culture into this homely cafe setting, and shares its space with a store selling vintage Peranakan tiles. Start your day right with their Signature Nyonya Otah Loti ($4.80) which comes with tomatoes, cheese and romaine lettuce. During lunch, swing by with your colleagues for the Nyonya Laksa ($8.80) — the noodles come topped with two large deshelled tiger prawns, clams and a generous portion of fish cake, all soaked in a luscious, punchy laksa gravy. At tea-time, try the Nyonya Tea Set ($10), which comes with two drinks and five handmade kuehs. Prices are nett.

Many thanks to my friends for indulging me as we tried out this fable of a healthy pancake. This was actually our second attempt - we arrived around 8pm on our first visit by which the shop was already closing.
No regrets at the end of day! The pancake pleasantly surprised us all - it tasted healthy (kudos to the 7 grains batter receipe), yet still fluffy, and not too sweet. The pancakes were served warm, and went really well with the cold ice cream and matcha cream. Sweet potatos were good too - crispy exterior, soft insides, warm. Nice ambience at the cafe for catchups and conversation, coupled with this tea time treat, I'll be hard pressed to come up with a better way to while away the weekend (and I doubt my friends will disagree too!)
Among the row of shops which were just recently renovated is the newly opened Harvest Ice Cream (btw thank goodness it didn't replace my favorite Liang Pi 凉皮 stall)! It's so brightly lit I'm sure you won't miss it once you exit the MRT Station. The soft serve was creamy and light but the the avocado flavor could be a teeny weeny bit stronger. We were also told that less sugar is added in their products so all hail healthy and affordable ice cream! Non-avocado fans will be glad to know that they serve a Vanilla softserve too at only $1.

Paste are not really my thing because I had a pretty unpleasant one when I was young, but doesn't hurt to try something new when the friend wants one. Quirky enough, none of the familiar nuttiness seemed to be found here; instead this felt like a smooth, creamy liquid form of a mooncake. Would not say I am particularly hooked, but I guess I definitely will not mind having it again.
