Zi Char 😚

The star dish of the dinner has got to be the the steamed Soon Hock, cooked lightly Teochew style so you can taste the freshness of the fish. The meat was tender yet firm and the broth was really flavourful! I'll also recommend the Champagne short ribs and Homemade Tofu with sea cucumber. 👍🏻😊

Dinner with the Zi Char gang at Kimly saw us going for the traditional Chilli Crab this time round (one of my favourite versions of this dish because of the accompanying man tous for dipping!). 😍 Ordered 2 crabs for 4 of us which set us back $50+ which is a pretty good price but the crabs were a hit or miss (one of them had a normal amount of meat while the other may have been malnourished or something 😐). Other recommendations are the Homemade Bean Curd and the Yam Ring filled with Seafood.

Highly recommend the butter pork ribs and honey fried chicken! 😍 The 3-egg vegetables and black pepper beef were tasty but just ordinary!

The queue for this was worth it. 😌 Popular among tourists, Jumbo is undoubtedly one of the best crab places in Singapore. The must-try: their famed Chilli Crab. The crab meat was plump and juicy, which is indicative of their freshness. And not to mention, the wonderful chilli-eggy sauce that goes so well was the fried mantous. It's not just the taste, but the entire experience that Jumbo offers: putting on the plastic aprons and being hands-on with the eating experience, whilst enjoying the scenic night view along Clarke Quay. I guess it's the whole ambience that makes the dining experience even more memorable.

Would come back here just to eat (a large) 白米粉 with chilli ❤️ everything else kinda just paled in comparison 😐

Wasn't crowded at dinner time at around 7pm and service was quick! Personally liked the phad Thai and tamarind fried fish (love the sauce 😍). The rest of the dishes (Pandan chicken, mango Thai salad and Tom Yum soup) were just ok, definitely had better ones. Bill came up to $46.30 for 5 dishes for 3 people, so definitely very affordable! A good place to chill and unwind with friends! ☺️
