Did You Say Coffee?
With multiple outlets across the island, Foreword Coffee can also be found at BakerX.
Located on level 4 of Orchard Central, BakerX is Far East Organisation's capsule space to allow homegrown F&B businesses trial having their own physical store & allow for their business to grow.
They currently hold both Foreword Coffee and a Guiltfree Desserts store. By the time I reached, the desserts were out of stock, so it was just coffee for me!
Their beans were Ou Yang, from Jiangchen, Yunnan, China. As a white, the flavour profile of cherries, dark chocolate & molasses came through distinctively, making it a super comforting cup of coffee.
As a social enterprise, they hire individuals from all walks of life, so please do be patient when you visit! Do also note that payment is via cash or paynow (the latter is preferred).
Having coffee over hearty conversations by the river are a great way to spend your weekend!
Coffee at Raw Kitchen Bar is pretty great & I love the fact that many are providing milk alternatives these days.
Flavour profile wise, their coffee is chocolatey fruity notes which was elevated through the cocoa powder that was topped over the espresso. I didn't see what beans they used but it was well-balanced & pulled decently!
A mid-day coffee to kick start the prelude to Fri-yay with Tiong Hoe!
Their first outlet is a tiny cosy spot located under the HDB blocks of Bukit Merah, serving up your espresso pours, cold brews & filter beans.
We ordered an Iced White ($5.30), perfect for the hot weather🥵 in my trusty stojo. Creamy white with hints of nuttiness that packs a caffeine punch was much needed during his dreary weather.
Will defo be back again to try out their Kombucha & cold brew!! #BurppleTakeaways

For the coffee drinkers, you'd have heard or been to this cosy Japanese roastery/cafe located at the far west, but going there is definitely worth every minute of travelling.
On one side of the building, you have the main roastery factory, while in the other, a double-story zen space for you to relax and have a cuppa.
As you enter, you'd be directed up to the second floor for your coffee or tea orders. Choose from a variety of filter coffee options, or espresso or tea for your caffeine dose.
We ordered the filter - Uganda Bugisu ($7.50) which has a medium body, with sweet hints of raisins & brown sugar before a wine-like aftertaste which lingers. We also had their Kyoto Uji Hojicha ($8) which has a perfectly nutty body, with a slight bitter ending which we surprisingly enjoyed and a creamy finish.
Apart from serving drinks, they also sell both filter & espresso beans which are for sale on their racks. Defo a cosy space to pop by if you're in the area/work in the west for that afternoon cuppa.

What happens when you put soft serve & a shot of coffee together? Well, you get espresso (spro for short) soft serve.
New on the menu at PPP Coffee, the Spro Soft Serve ($6.50) packs your caffeine punch in a dessert form.
A swirl of soft serve is topped with an almond brittle and granola bits to give you that additional nutty crunch, which also pairs well with the espresso base (I'm guessing they used their Nuts & Bolts blend). What you get is a nutty harmony which is perfect for Singapore's weather which is constantly hot 🔥

Located right next to the Kopitiam is this new clean & minimalistic coffee spot that sticks out due to its clean interiors and gorgeous curves! If you've been there before, you'd get what I mean, if not, swipe left to see more of the space!
Apart from the gorgeous ID (oof that archway), Covet Coffee serves up filter, espresso, teas & an assorted of pastries & cakes. In due course, some light bites will also be made available (but no mains!).
Drinks wise, I had their Hojicha Latte ($6) which came in a gorgeous @origami_cup. The hojicha had quite a depth, with a bitter but roasty aftertaste, making it extremely comforting. Definitely a cup that puts your mind at ease and is perfect as an afternoon tea break.
On the side, their Kouign Amann ($7) is flaky (in a good way), not too sweet and crisp around the edges. A perfect complement to go alongside the hojicha latte.
For coffee lovers, their beans are from TAD Coffee! Haven't gotten the chance to try it yet, but defo will when I visit them again.
P/S: they've got plugs available at their main bench area, if those who are WFH/WFC, you've got yourself a quiet comfortable spot 😉

They've been in the cold brew scene for awhile now & even with their repackaged look, Old Hen Coffee still remains consistent in serving up delish cold brews.
Ranging from your usual white/black cold brew, they also have mocha, chocolate, matcha and oat white.
For their white, flavour profile wise is creamy, nutty and smooth to drink, exactly as the description states. An easy option for both coffee lovers & non-coffee lovers alike. For their black, it's light & fruity, making it really easy to drink.
Swipe left for a therapeutic pour. 😌
Bottles come in 300ml or 1L options & can be purchased either in-stores or delivery!

Located on the second floor within the HDB estate, Equate Coffee is no stranger to the Tanjong Pagar community & coffee drinkers.
With their stark industrial vibes and design which sticks out amidst the massage parlours and medicine shops, spotting this store from afar is not an issue.
On the menu, you have your usual suspects of black, white and mocha, and can choose from sizes ranging from short (6oz), tall (8oz) or white.
I had their Mocha ($5.50) to go and it was a blend of their in-house choc mixture & espresso. The result is a chocolate-y & nutty blend with a smooth mouthfeel. As we reached near closing time, most of the pastries & famed canele were oos, will perhaps pop by another time for it!

With coffee beans from PYROAST, Coexist serves up 2 espresso blends - First Light and Nights Out. As a white coffee, the former is served, and as a black, the latter.
Nights Out has a medium body with a sweet lingering finish, making it an enjoyable cuppa to have.
For the Houjicha, the barista cranked up the sweetness a lil', which balances with the bitterness of it, while maintaining its nuttiness and creaminess.
Will defo be back to try their white and nitro cold brew next!

Just a stone throw away from Jurong East MRT (connected by J-Walk for a sheltered passageway), Venture Drive serves up your espresso blends, cold brews & single origins pour overs! They also do small batch roasting in their little space, so the whole store is perfumed by freshly roasted coffee all the time 😌
The espresso based coffee is a Brazil single origin with notes of chocolate, brown sugar & chestnut, giving you a sweet, easy to drink cuppa without the acidity. An easy flavour for the non-coffee drinkers too! The 8oz white ($5) also pairs well with their in-house brownies, such as the Raspberry Rose Brownie ($6.50) that has comes as a dark choc brownie with a sweet-sour center of raspberry rose crumble & jam. The perfect mid-day combi.
