This time, I also ordered their blue label chicken wings. Really enjoyed them and devoured every morsel off the bones. This time, a healthier pizza. The Umami bomb! Topped with mushrooms, lemon, spinach, goats cheese and anchovies, this was utterly delicious
You can’t go wrong with this Grilled Parma Ham and Mozzarella Cheese as your choice of appetiser from the set lunch menu.
Served on a bed of arugula and sweet baby tomatoes, the large nugget of oozy-soft, creamy cheese and warm ham is pretty much a savoury-on-savoury match made in heaven.
If you reckon this is too much for you, there’s Pumpkin Soup as an alternative.
I enjoyed this a lot.
The fine strands of pasta were cooked al dente and covered in just the right amount of sauce. Speaking of which, the sauce itself was a tad salty but in a very tasty way thanks to the capers and black olives. Some sweetness did pop up here and there though, courtesy of the softened baby tomatoes.
I have to say, this simple vegetarian dish delivered flavour in spades.
They really do know how to make a girl happy, looking at that portion of truffle perched on top. Pasta could be more al dente in my opinion but am not complaining.
This version of noodle "paella" really hit the spot with vibrant pepper aioli and perfectly grilled squid and clams... It even had thrilling little bits of soccarat!
WHAT SAUC-E-RY IS THIS?!
There's magic in that olive oil I tell you. Having had tonnes of roasted garlic soaked in it for 2 days before being used to cook the prawns, it carried a light yet distinct flavour and a rounder, unusually creamy consistency, plus a smidgen of heat from some South American chilli spice.
Even after we had eaten all the prawns (which by the way, were super sweet and fresh as OLA Cocina Del Mar gets their prawns delivered twice a day from a local supplier), we were dunking our complimentary crisp-crusted bread in that fragrant oil. And when those ran out, we actually asked for more.
Yes, it is pricey but this "Gambas" is prepared in a unique way which gives it a taste unlike the many others I've had. So, it's worth a try.

🍴The freshly baked pretzel was still warm when served and was tasty by itself + crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The bottarga cream made from cured fish roe was absolutely yummy and when paired together, along with olive oil, it was a beautiful combination of flavours that left us wanting more (& hence ordering a second portion)

Smooth, pliable, soft-textured and remarkably flavourful, these slices of dry-aged Wagyu beef ham are a must-order when you are here. They are served on snowy-white ricotta cheese speckled with chives, with a few pieces of crostini on the side. Simple but perfect.
The pasta was well cooked, and the veal was tender. The sauce was creamy with a hint of truffle. Personally, I felt that the truffle aroma could have been stronger. But overall it was still really rich and flavourful. Although it was cream-based, it wasn't too heavy, and the portion was just right. Should give it a try!
Picture this: A giant platter of curried Italian arborio rice, topped with six chargrilled king prawns. The rice is creamy, the spices add amazing warmth and the prawns are juicy. It's no wonder this CBD cafe's Curry Prawn Risotto ($23) is a long-time favourite. The giant portion feeds two, and the icing on the cake? Prices are nett. This is definitely worth battling the dreaded post-lunch slump for.
