Sweet dreams are made of these~

Ending a meal with desserts to share is the best 👌🏼 we ordered both Apple Crumble & Brownie Ice Cream Bomb which were some of the new & highlights from The Assembly Ground.

The Apple Crumble came as a deconstructed version with the caramelised Apple bits at the bottom, topped with crumble, sweet strawberries & NZ Vanilla Bean ice cream. The combination is a sweet finish to the meal, with each component complimenting each other with every spoonful.

For the Brownie Ice Cream Bomb, ice cream is moulded into the brownie & frozen, giving you that little hill image. When you cut into it, you'd be expecting an ooze or something flowing out, but because it's frozen, we've got none of that. Nonetheless, the brownie was on a chewy end, which we felt could've been a lil more fudgy.

Nonetheless, still a sweet treat to end the meal 😋

If you're looking for something unconventional, FirePit has got your back! A mix of Turkish & Mediterranean cuisine, coupled with the rustic vibe, FirePit is a great place for small group gatherings!

To share between your friends, try out The Capricosa. The sourdough pizza is made fresh on the spot and is oven-baked in a hand-made brick oven (yes you read that right). On top, you've got fresh Mozz, ham slices, kalamata olives & anchovies.

The combination is a savoury & tangy bite as each slices comes with a fillet of anchovy. Not to worry, the flavours balances out really well with the anchovy giving you that additional saltiness in every bite.

It's also available for takeaway under #BurppleBeyond!

When you think of burgers, you would think of juicy thick slabs of meat sandwiched between lightly toasted soft buns & condiments to follow. Well, you get the same effect right here at The Goodburger, except, you aren't actually having meat.

The Goodburger serves up meat alternatives using Impossible and Tindle patties, while bringing you the same amount of enjoyment as you would get in a normal burger.

One of the highlights and favs is One Night in Bangkok. As the name goes, this Thai-inspired burgers packs a spicy punch with their special Thai sauce, fresh onions and the Impossible patty. You'd be surprised as the Impossible patty too is thick and juicy, which very much imitates actual meat, so you get the same sense of fulfilment without the guilt!

If you're a fan of fried chicken, this side is definitely something that you should order!

Paddyfolks serves up pretty decent jap fusion rice bowls & pasta, but apart from that, you definitely got to try their sides!

One of our personal favourites was the fried Tori skewers! Perfect as a bar snack (although no alcohol is served here), the exterior is crisp & crunchy, while having a soft & juicy center.

While you can't really destroy fried chicken (unless you over fry it), it is tough to get the right flavours & seasoning, but boy do the folks at Paddyfolks do it right!

Coming in 2 different sizes, regular & large, the unagi rice bowl is your quintessential jap rice bowl that you can order at most jap restaurants.

Thick slabs of unagi glazed in teriyaki sauce is soft & almost melts in your mouth is set on a bed of japanese rice that soaks up the tasty sauce. Easily a staple rice bowl if you don't know what to get.

The difference between the regular & large is the amount of unagi you get! If you prefer more unagi, go for the large, otherwise the regular should suffice.

Every rice bowl comes with a bed of Japanese Short Grain Rice, a side of greens, sweet corn, cherry tomatoes, Onsen egg, nori flakes, tobiko & sesame seeds.

You get to opt for a choice of brown rice (+$0.50) if you're about #heathierchoice!

The first thing that hits you is a whiff of truffle in the air. Shimeji mushrooms are deep fried to a crisp & tossed with truffle oil, then placed atop the Kombu stock-cooked spaghetti.

Flavours wise, it was the perfect crunchy, truffle-y kick that every truffle friend loves. Kinda like your favourite truffle fries, but a more substantial option.

As stated on the menu, every bowl of pasta is cooked in kombu stock till it's al dante (spot on on texture), which really shines through in the spaghetti. It is then topped with an onsen egg, tobiko, nori flakes & sesame seeds.

If you're on #BurppleBeyond, don't forget to claim this as part of your one for one!

Oh btw, they are able to do a vegan option too, upon request!

This bowl seems a little plain at first, but the flavours are surpassingly on point when you have it! The mix of the saltiness from the mentaiko, paired with the creaminess of the onsen eggs gives you a carbonara-like sauce & a crunch with the fried salmon on the side.

Only downside was that the salmon was a lil' too over-fried, but the fish was still juicy upon cutting into it.

The yakiniku slices has been sous vide & lightly torched before being served. The beef slices are tender & soft, but could do with a lil bit more char to the edges for that perfect crisp. Nonetheless, still a decent beef bowl!

When you think of mooncakes, it is unlikely that you'd think of chocolate; but guess what, the team over at MBS did just that!

Featuring their Chocolate-covered Black Sesame Mooncake, which is part of their box of 4 assorted flavours ($48)!

The dark chocolate shell is embellished with gold flakes & covers the perfect marry of black sesame mousse, hojicha cremeux, banana biscuit & black sesame lotus paste.

What you get is this deep roasted nutty flavour, with a hint of bitterness from the dark chocolate shell.

Definitely an alternative mooncake that you ought to try this Mid-Autumn Festival!

Hello you, hallo mi.

For all veggie lovers, this one's for you!

Sideways has their Halloumi Fever, which comes with a choice of base (Couscous & Mixed Peppers), Roasted Aubergine, Zucchini, grilled Padron Peppers, artichokes, Burrata & hummus!

You'd never think of filling up on this but wow, each piece of item is grilled perfectly with a hint of char with every bite. Mix them together with the hummus to give you a nutty fix and a creamy finish with the burrata.

This well-balanced dish is great for days where you feel like having something in the healthier side.

Having steak for breakfast is never too indulgent, right?

Available only during the weekends on their brunch menu, pop by Sideways for their Ribeye Bowl between 10am to 4pm on Sat & Sun to taste this goodness by yourself!

This bowl comes packed with your choice of base (this was Mixed Greens +$2), topped with Mixed Grilled Vegetables, Avocado Dip, Grilled Padron Peppers, Poached Egg & of course, a perfectly medium rare steak.

You'd be surprised at how full you'd be after this bowl as it does fill you to the brim, in terms of flavour & stomach space.

This seasonal item was the first item set on your table, and the whiff of the sea took over & it was amazing.

Each piece of scallops was charred perfectly, with a tinge if crispy edges. The broth was simmered using the trimmings of the scallop, to make a savoury umami sauce for us to wipe up using the perfectly toasted homemade sourdough, which was given an extra oomph with cracked black pepper & olive oil.

Definitely a starter you need to get to share!
