Go For Other Dishes At This Restaurant
The soufflé starting sinking / flattened within seconds it was served and this was what it sank to within a minute. As it is the first time I'm having soufflé, could experts tell me, is this the norm? Is it because the cafe was too cold?
Anyway I didn't enjoy the soufflé much.. Can't taste the vanilla and it is too eggy for me. Matcha soft serve is good though.
SGD 15++ comes with salad/soup/ice cream.
This arrived looking good but was unfortunately a subpar dish for me.
The Good: Rendang Sauce, Crispy Papadam
But the chicken was too mushy for my liking.
If you are here for the set lunch, go for other mains.. I heard that the salmon baked rice was the more popular choice.. #freewifiSG via #freewifi @jurongpoint
Pizza bread itself is not bad with thin crispy crust that's not soggy. But I didn't like the topping and sauce that much. For me, hoshin sauce and roast duck just don't work on pizzas. And when they are further paired with cheese and fried popiah skin, the whole pizza was just too jelak for me to handle. A pity. Maybe I chose the wrong pizza.
This came looking so pretty! The waffle was very crispy and light which is a good start. But after a few spoonfuls, it began to taste too salty. And ice cream wasn't that good either. Tried it for the novelty. But probably won't have it a second time.
This consisted of a large piece of beer battered fish fillet and a small tin of truffle fries. Looked great but was a little disappointing. The batter tasted average and wasn't crispy enough. And though the fish meat was thick and firm, I could not eat it without drenching it in chilli and tartar. Truffle fries was pretty good though. It's so hard to get a good fish and chips in Singapore! Wish I am in Melbourne now.
Meet the CreatureS Laksa, looking all beautiful and classy with its head dress of cucumber strips and served with a golden spoon. I had high expectations of this but alas! Beyond the beautiful facade, there wasn't much else to hold it up, especially at SGD 24++. The Good: Refreshing Cucumbers, Tasty Chicken Meat, No cockles (I dislike cockles in my Laksa so this is a plus point for me, could be a negative for cockles fans though). The In-Between: Decent Laksa Broth that is lighter, less spicy and less oily than the usual ones (I prefer mine the usual way though some might prefer this), Decent Vermicelli. The Let Down: Tasteless Tau Pok, Lackluster prawns, Laksa broth that was too little as it was all soaked up by the vermicelli halfway through the meal. For me, a bowl of Laksa is all about the Tau Pok and broth, therefore this is really not for me. IMO, a bowl of SGD 3 nett Laksa served at the coffee shop near my house tasted better. But do not write off CreatureS just yet. Come here for the ambience and excellent service and their duck and pear salad. Just avoid the overpriced laksa unless you are a foreigner and would like to try Laksa at a nice restaurant and is afraid of it being too spicy or too strong.
Meet the Mao Shan Wang durian cake from CreatureS. It is a well proportioned cake in terms of its durian to cake ratio. Personally I am not a fan of durian cakes that are more durians than cake, like Goodwood Park Hotel's. But if you are a fan of those, this might not be for you. Here, durian flesh is used instead of durian paste, which is a plus point. But I didn't like that I was biting into fibers. This is also one of the least sweet durian cakes I've eaten so chances are no or little sugar has been added to the durian flesh, another plus point. Overall a decent cake but because I don't like their coarse cake texture, I might not order it again.
