Jabernese
Discovered this new DIY donburi eatery while window shopping in 313. I would say all this for 13.90 is pretty bang for your buck (and now they're having a 2nd bowl at 50% promotion!!!) . I liked that they did not drown their sashimi /rice with too much marinade, so I could still taste the freshness of the fish. They are quite generous with the pickled radish (which cuts through the richness of the fatty fish) so if you're not a fan then maybe ask them to replace it with more... tamago ? Hahaha no harm trying ! Go try this soon before the promotion swims away~
Plain, aburied, spicy and mentaiko seared😋
Fresh sushi, but one set meal definitely ain't enough for this belly🐷
Your meal starts off with a cold appetizer of pickled sliced radish that's nothing special followed by a serving of salad. The piece de resistance arrives soon after and it really is quite a pretty sight for sore eyes. Fresh ingredients combine to make a decent don. But perhaps the small cubes didn't satisfy that sashimi craving I had (think full-on thick slabs). Our meal finished off with a trio of desserts- soft and smooth mochi, banana ice cream and a strawberry jelly of sort.
Was brought here by an overly enthusiastic Thomson-dwelling friend of mine, who insisted that their Chirashi don is fresh and value for money. She's usually one to rave about run-of-the-mill catered food, but she was right this time. For $10.80, you get a decent amount of salmon coated with a marinade that's neither too cloying nor overpowering. And they got their liao : rice ratio right. I'm not a sushi rice connoisseur so the bed of rice was fine by me. I guess I could always do with thicker slabs of sashimi but at 10.80 nett, I can't complain. Sweet waitress as well! Only downside is the squeezy quarters, so I won't recommend this for groups.
