I love the wonton noodles. Very flavorful. The chicken also delicious. All in all satisfying.
Was scrolling through for food inspiration and content and happened to saw @jiaxiangnasilemak profile! The fact that they infused Butterfly Peas which are known for multiple health benefits in their Nasi Lemak really amazed me!
.
Hence, decided to drop by to find out more about their Nasi Lemak! Really appreciates when the store owner of @jiaxiangnasilemak actually shared with me about their history and food establishment!
.
Tasted their rendang chicken Nasi Lemak [$5], it was so rich in terms of rendang flavour and rice was fragrant and colourful!
.
Store is situated a few metres away from bendemeer Mrt (Newly opened downtown line)!

the best roast pork of my life, perfectly prepared with unbelievably crispy skin married with succulent tender meat... all perfectly seasoned to become the stuff of food fantasies...even with a full belly, it will be hard to hold yourself back from reaching for just one more bite... #burpple
Spicy Oriental Bolognaise ($22)
This is hands down a must order dish from @birdsofafeathersg ! A cross between Szechuan zha jiang mian (ēøé ±é¢) and Italian pasta, this is really an intelligent union. Angel hair pasta was used as the noodle base while topped with a pork ragout, wilted kale, Sakura ebi and an onsen tamago. We also opted for the spicy version which intensified the asian part of this dish, making it most unforgettable. Definitely go for this if you love spicy/mala!
I had my doubts regarding how good this white bee hoon actually is and I'm really Glad to say that reviews do not disappoint! I really enjoyed how the white bee hoon fused together with the subtle taste of lime, some eggs and seafood altogether. It is a great place to come to after Cycling at Coney Island or Punggol Waterway, and the sambal kangkong does not disappoint too!
Located in the heart of Chinatown and just a two-minute walk from Chinatown MRT Station, this four-storey restaurant is perfect for accommodating the whole extended family for a meal. Prices are affordable, portions are big and flavours are consistently good. Follow Burpple Tastemaker Felicia Sim's lead and order the Roasted Peking Duck ($58) to share. After savouring the beautifully lacquered skin, the remaining meat can be cooked with either rice or noodles as the main (she does not recommend frying the duck meat with salt and pepper as it loses its sweetness). If you can stomach more, the gravy-slicked Lala Beehoon (from $28) is worth a try, or get their signature Popiah ($7.50) to share. It is a massive pillow stuffed full with ingredients that make it well worth every penny. End the meal with the crowd favourite Yam Paste with Gingko Nut (from $26).
Avg Price: $30 per person

Served complimentary with any order of drinks during happy hour(5pm - 8pm, 1 serve per table), these unassuming looking logs are slightly crisp outside from the batter but hot and yielding in the center. Satisfyingly savoury, especially when dunked into the chilli sauce provided. The rest of the food here is of equally high calibre and definitely worth sitting down for a full meal.
Taste: 3.5/5
And it is the little moments that you spend bonding that touches your heart. Happy having had lunch with the bestie at Luk Yu teahouse. It was just yesterday but I'm already missing it. #sgeats #dimsum
I decided to try the fried pork belly with Maggie noodles at just $3.50. Flooded with fried onions, it was so shiok! The fried pork belly was the highlight of this dish and it did not disappoint. With a glistening thin layer of oil and juicy and tender porky goodness. I'm so ordering this again! š
Customizable meal for $3.50?? Choose from the meat main toppings, the style (curry, spicy dry toss, or a kick of spicy assam sauce) and lastly your choice of carbs. The serving of both my crispy pork belly main and spicy dry toss noodles were humongous!! It was not just about the quantity, it was delicious! It definitely did not taste of MSG, the fried onions and spicy sauce-coated noodles were so appetizing! I just couldn't stop eating the noodles even on its own. The stall next door selling traditional radish cakes was a bomb!! Soft and fluffy cakes that are deep fried to perfection upon order. They have yam, carrot and pumpkin cakes to choose from but the stall owner allowed for a combination of all! 6 big pieces of "cham-cham" cakes at only $2!! Where to find?? Very passionate and friendly stall owners who will not hesitate to recommend you a dish that you will love. Now I know that the rave reviews about this place were not exaggerated!
5 munchies: These live tiger prawns were doused in Chinese wine with wolfberries and Chinese Angelica root (dang gui) before getting steamed over hot stones in a bamboo basket. They were so fresh and crunchy that I wished I didn't have to share them with 9 other Burpple Tastemakers!
Though this restaurant is far and difficult to get in (Science Park), the dishes were spot on. Loved the salty egg yolk calamari. Will be back. *Shine bright like a diamond*
