Mentaiko Fries ($14)

Missing this fantastic mentaiko fries @thebrewingground . Think battered fries like the one from long john silvers only better and crispier drizzled with an extravagant amount of mentaiko sauce served in an extra large basket. Definitely suitable for sharinamongst 2-3 pax at least. It does get a tad salty so be sure to share the sauce with the fries hidden beneath!

Breaded Otah Butty ($18)

@earlybirdsg serves up local flavours in cafe style with one of its signature crispy otah burger made with muar otah patty sandwiched between brioche buns. Love the heat from the otah patty but wished that the patty to bread ratio can be tweaked.

Collective Platter ($26)

@6lettercoffee ‘s signature platter for 2 comprises the 6nature wings, honey wings, crisscut sweet potato fries and salad with housemade sauce. The serving was definitely generous and my first time trying criss-cut sweet potato fries which was superb with its light crispy exterior. Both flavour of wings had a crusty crispy skin but in terms of flavour, i preferred the signature version which is mainly soy flavoured. Best part about the wings for me is that they are all midjoints! Side note is that the space here is very pretty with greens placed everywhere in the cafe. Definitely a good spot for chilling on weekends.

Daizu’s Bara Chirashi ($18). This dish didn’t sit so well with us as we found the rice a little dry and hard and the fish were not seasoned enough imo. The quantity of fish though was generous so that’s a plus.

Chilli Softshell Crab with Brioche Sticks ($14)

House speciality at newly opened @daizu.cafe , this is a must order. Chilli crab sauce is tangy and mildly spicy and the toasted brioches sticks are light and crispy, the perfect pairing to mop up all the sauce!

The Academics Breakfast ($26)

Satisfying breakfast @thecoffeeacademicssg before bidding goodbye to dining out. Especially enjoyed the sausage and maple bacon.

Off the Bone ($16)

Ham & cheese crepe @gathershop.co topped with a runny egg for eggporn. Tastes great and executed with perfection. Good for the gram but lacking for the tummy especially at that price point. Probably need to fuel the rent at raffles hotel I Gather.

Nasi Lemak Set for 2 ($28)

Been years since my last visit to @sinpopobrand but my decision on what to order remained the same. Craving that luncheon meat crisps and the abundance of side dishes that came with the nasi lemak set, ordering this was a no-brainer. The set came with rojak, curry potatoes, sambal fishballs, luncheon meat crisps, marinated pork belly and har cheong chicken. Har cheong chicken here is one of the best I’ve had. Fragrantly pungent, plump and juicy with a fluffy light crispy crust. Luncheon meat crisps is such an addictive snack to munch on and the marinated pork belly portion was just so generous. Oh did I also mention the rice served with a soft centered egg? The rice is free flow and reminded me of the rice from nasi lemak packets wrapped jn banana leaf except this was served warm.

Pandan Pancakes

Pandan pancakes with a scoop of coconut ice cream drizzled with a generous dose of gula melaka syrup @tolidosnook . Nothing like starting the week long break on a sweet note! Everything was on point though it was a tad sweet for my liking.

The Tiramisu was to-die-for. Super luxe and indulgent cream in between layers of coffee infused sponge. The cup looked fairly large but we polished it quickly. Part of a 3 course lunch set made even more affordable with the burpplebeyond deal.

Roasted Shrimps ($14),

Shrimps were super fresh and the gravy was so flavourful that we just had to order a basket of sourdough bread($4) to mop it up.

Weekends be like this @thegardenslug . I should thank my baby @taro.the.dachshund for having diarrhoea 😂 since a trip to the vet also net me such an appetizing breakfast? This platter is just everything i want. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sauteed mushrooms, grilled tomato, 3 sausages, hashbrowns and 2 slices of bread. Also in picture is the tomyum pasta vongole ($19.50) that was so appetizing with its pasta noodles coated with a zesty and tangy sauce and a generous serving of white clams.
