Not much for their main menu so far, but ought to try their waffles! :

Sitting atop the waffle is a rich scoop of brownie ice cream ($8) which isn't too sweet, paired with Nutella sauce at the bottom, surprise for choc lovers!
fine I cut it with the wrong knife but this. Is some whimsical beauty.
I took a thick slice, toasted it and slathered a thick robe of chunky peanut butter. It was HOT GOOEY AND BEAUTIFUL
9/10
(bread was very plain, would have love a tad more sweetness? And Iām really not a sweets lover but I guess there was some expectation by all the colours for this to be at least a little sweet tasting like the white bread loaves from the supermarts?)
This is from Jane's Cake Station, which is nestled amongst old school shophouses along Jalan Kayu. There is a rustic charm about Jalan Kayu, with its narrow streets flanked by these shophouses that looked like they hadn't been refreshed for decades..
.
This type of chocolate fudge cake had been popularized by Awfully Chocolate and Lana Cakes. I haven't had Lana Cakes for almost 10 years so I can't do a comparison, but I find Jane's cakes to be smooth and light. We bought it the day before and it was kept in the fridge for 32 hours before serving, yet it was still moist. Not the most chocolatey cake I had, but I like it very much. Those who prefer moist chocolate cake with a lighter touch should also like this.
Very good too! Buttery crust with the very good egg curd mmhmmm
I thought this would be a match made in heaven - fried chicken skin (who doesn't love this!) in salted egg dip which is all the rage now. Still pretty decent, but the skin didn't feel like they were piping hot and freshly fried. So it is not that airy, though still crispy, and it had that fried-food-left-to-air-and-became-hard kind of toughness to it though it was still warm.

The salted egg yolk sauce was grainy which I liked. But some may prefer it to be more creamy so that the skin can be better coated with the yolk, as many pieces were very scantily coated, if at all.
It was still a decent starter or snack, you could say I was just seeking perfection.

I'll still revisit, there are many more dishes I want to try, and they are attractively priced. But be prepared and bring along more drinking water.
At only $2 a pop, there's no reason not to get this (or a couple). The slightly lemony/orange marshmallow was toasted such that the exterior was a crispy layer of caramelisation, while the inside was gooey and soft. This beats all the self-BBQ ones you've had so far for sure.
At Creamier's second outlet, 10 out of their 18 signature flavours are now permanently on the menu (the rest are on rotational basis) ā that is reason enough to travel down to Gillman Barracks for dessert! The bigger and better Creamier also boasts more indoor seating than its Toa Payoh outlet and two new ice cream flavours ā Macadamia Tropicana ($4.20) and Pomegranate Yoghurt ($4.20). First time here? Go for their signature ice cream flavour Sea Salt Gula Melaka ($3.30). If it's available, add on a scoop of the Peanut Butter and Jelly ($4.20) ā it's a winning combination of savoury and sweet. Don't miss out on their fluffy waffles too ($6 for waffles alone, $8.80 with one scoop of ice cream)!
Those who know me well would know I love Kaya Toast to bits. Have always wanted to try the yam variants (I love yam too!) but hadn't been hardworking enough to reach them early enough for breakfast. Quite a pleasant surprise that there is one from my neighbourhood. They didn't even scrimp on the yam spread on this one, nor on the butter; each just comes in such thick layers in between the crisp bread. I like how the combination goes too; earthy flavours with a little tinge of saltiness from the huge slab of butter, which really goes together well especially if you are one who cringe on how sweet Kaya can be. Certainly good to try out if you hadn't tried anything similar before!
Have you tried it yet??? @oldhencoffee's Valrhona Dark Cocoa ORANGE š [$7]

Now that they have installed the big yellow spotlight, it makes the lighting yellow. Still loving their strawberry shortcake and rose latte. š
