Brunch in the West at a place with food of East and West influence .
I won't mind returning to this place if not for the distance away from home.
Bucatini Grilled Prawns Pasta: The prawns are really huge and fresh. Pasta is fragrant with a tinge of garlic and pepper taste. I will prefer a thinner choice of pasta actually (personal preference) in order to lessen that 'alkaline' taste .
Fried Wings: The wings are pretty yummy. The batter is nice and the chicken is really tender and moist. I would have liked it more if the meat inside is more seasoned or flavored. But overall, it is still yums!
Fried Chicken & Pancakes and Smoked Toriyama Wagyu Neck Burger. The fried chicken and pancake doesnβt sound very appetizing but it was a combo made in heaven. The moist and fluffiness of the pancake compliments the fried chicken perfectly.

This place was used to be called Five by Five but its being taken over by Nook & Canny! Mac & Cheese was a ππ»ππ» ($14.50) but the Chicken Bleu ($15.50) was really good & the serving was rather generous! Their Sweet Potato Fries was ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ» ($8.50)
With a side of smoked paprika hash (flaky, retaining a good bite, almost similar to the texture of flaked smoked fish meat) and heirloom tomatoes. First of all, can we talk about how AMAZING the supply of produce is?? The tomatoes leaned savoury, so the touch of salt and pepper was all that was needed to do them justice. The creamy scramble borrowed pepperiness from the spring onions and the sourdough toast was the perfect base on which everything sat. The calming interior of the cafΓ© and open kitchen, as well as friendly service made this THE best brunch i've had in singapore in a very, VERY long while.
This is way beyond the usual squid ink variety. Even the crunchy-skinned deepfried chicken fillet and onsen egg were overshadowed by those unusually delicious, garlicky black grains streaked with mentaiko mayo.
Liked that the salsa gives a zesty touch to the overall aspect, which harmonized quite well with the fried sea bream fillet & its chipotle mayonnaise. Also enjoyed the generous portion of curly fries, exceptionally crispy and well-seasoned. Though slightly pricey, itβs still an all around awesome meal Iβd crave anytime of the day. Would wish to try a Cajun shrimp version of this. Have a fabulous weekend!
Filled with chunks of slipper lobster, mentai mayo, cheese and tobiko on toasted bread, it's definitely satisfying to sink your teeth into this combination! But I find the meat less firm as compared to Boston lobster.
Fries tossed in truffle oil is surprisingly fragrant, made better with its sprinkled Parmesan cheese on top.
As much as their lobster sandwich is good, their service leave much to be desired. They have forgotten baby's lobster sandwich despite us checking with them twice. After a long wait (with me almost finishing my food), his lobster sandwich was served, but his fries was served cold. :(
The beef rendang bowl is shockingly delicious! My fave of all their rice bowls actually, cause the rich flavourful rendang helped to neutralise the intense pickles. The Miso Eggplant on the other hand, though not too bad, didn't help to balance the sourish pickles, resulting in a slightly too tangy bowl.
Wakame, oven roasted tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, pickled lotus root, wasabi sprouts, soft centred egg γ$18
A hearty meal with my favourite melt in your mouth Butter Poached Cod! π
Ordered the Pink Shrimp Croissant. Add $4 to change truffles fries! They're awesome! Will definitely come back for that!
Tasty BBQ corn with a piece of scallop. But seriously for 16 dollars in a casual coffee place? I love this place for lunch and brunch. For dinner? Nah. Only ridiculously priced small plates on the menu and one pasta and a paella.
