This is the latest steamboat craze that is bound to take Singapore by storm. The queue is freaking long! Varieties of seafood are cooked layer by layer from top to bottom. Even though the seafood was fresh, it was a tad dry tonight. As the seafood is steamed, the delicious and yummy juices are collected at the base, forming very flavourful soup base. We added in maggi mee, luncheon meat, meat balls, pork belly and remaining seafood into the thick soup. Soup base choices are Kombu Dashi, Korean Kimchi stew and premium Korean chicken ginseng broth.
Rid off the impression of Mos Burger when the word "Rice Burger" is mentioned, for this one feels more like a Bulgogi Beef Rice set compacted in the same shape and format as a burger. Couldn't taste much of the Beef in there but we have to admit the rice was flavourful from the Korean gochujang, though lacks spiciness. Despite so, this combination and the cheesy flavours does add up to something that is able to please most palettes.
Been dying to try Yoogane for a really long time and I FINALLY got to taste the goodness of this. Some say it can't be compared to the original ones in Korea, but honestly this is good enough 😋 Might wanna order the one without the cheese on the side next time because it's not really worth it - the cheese ends up getting burnt and it's hard to scrape it out. Ordered the two person serving + additional rice cakes + the Kimchi pancake (which is amazing!!!!!!) It was more than enough for the stomachs for four because the portion is HUGE. We totally underestimated the rice cakes + ramen. I think the ramen could be slightly tastier? Yoogane is on the pricey side but I guess there's always a first time!
All are DONE!!! 😋😋😋
During lunch hours, Wang Dae Bak is heavily packed! However their service are quick & attentive. We order Rice Cakes, Army Stew, Seafood Pancake, Spicy Tofu Seafood Stew, Pork Ribs Stew, Ginseng Chicken Soup & Spicy Beef Soup! This were food for 7 people! Their banchan (side dishes) are really delicious to start with, especially their fish cakes, egg, mashed potatoes! Refillable of course! 😉 Not forgetting they've Febreeze at the counter for you to spray over your clothes due to the food smell.
Thick mozzarella cheese coupled with piping hot rice cakes - one serving is never enough. *_* The bulgogi beef and crispy chicken rice rolls are also the best out of all the rice rolls they have!
