However that sticky fig pudding, was super delicious.
Chose this place for tea however it was quite disappointing. The Mao Shan Wang lava cake lacked of the Mao Shan Wang. The waffles were okay, but not very impressive (or perhaps I have just been having really good waffles recently) while my flat white was just average. Don't think I'll come back...for now.
Had a rather disappointing cup of coffee earlier, this however was really good. Tiong Bahru bakery's coffee hasn't disappoint after countless of visits.
It's pretty much like the paddy hills one. I'm not a total fan of hot cakes in general, but with three people... We didn't finish this one too.
Drury lane is one of my go to place whenever I feel like having filter coffee, a quiet space and a plug point. It's cosy and quiet enough to for me to just read and enjoy sipping my cup of filtered coffee ($5). Hasn't disappoint thus far. :)
Chanced upon this while deciding a place to brunch at Mandarin Gallery. I loved their bagels and latkes so much. It's so difficult to find delicious bagels in Singapore and by far, this is one of the best. I could totally just have that and cream cheese for brunch. The latkes was a surprising winner too. Wasn't too sure what did I order, but it was so delicious with the hollandaise sauce.
I had the kimchi fried rice with steak this time round in Paddy. It was so hearty and delicious, literally worth every single penny for this. Though portion could be a wee bit bigger, but it's still so freaking awesome. I had a really yumm hand brewed coffee too. The only disappointment of the meal was that we ordered cauliflower fritters - it came late and it was way too oily for our liking.
I had the opportunity to lunch here today and I was looking forward to it since its Lola's other sister (and everyone raves about Lola). All the food we ordered was really good and didn't take very long. The one thing I found odd is that they only gave us a few minutes to look at the menu and decide what we wanted. I felt quite displeased though, I'll be ready to order...when I am ready right? Plus it's order at the counter so I felt like why am I actually rushed to order. I sincerely hope the management can fix this because it's weird...like you don't have enough menus? And I'm sure I'm not the first to pick up on this too.
Afterwit is the Mexican sister to working title. I love working title, they serve cheap craft beer, awesome food and coffee. So, I was actually quite excited to have their coffee here. I was a bit let down by the coffee they served which had no coffee art (though I know it's stupid to have it after all after you drink it disappears) but... Oh well. *sigh* My flat white was pretty okay, but could do with an extra shot of espresso.
I was a tad bit disappointed with the charcoal waffles that was their special item for the month. Firstly, the waffles came cold which is a downer. Secondly, the waffles were quite dense, not quite like Fat Cat's waffles. Thirdly, the salted egg yolk sauce was too thick and salty too. Only saving grace was the ice cream. Flavours that you should try - Thai red tea, earl grey and salted caramel.
I had their Nutella Latte, one of the recommended items in their menu and it's really good. I felt the kick of the espresso shot and the delicious Nutella goodness. So rich and amazing.
We caved into a cup of froyo before we left. I love froyo and I think this was one of the better froyo's I had in town but some may find it quite sweet though.
