Great sourdough bread sandwich.

an upgrade to the classic homely snack that my grandma used to make.
Monster loves deep fried bread! Nothing like a big bite of Crispy oily bread!

Now here’s a first for me, eating pork served on a bed of ice. The idea is to create a jelly like texture with the tomato sauce to contrast the crispy fried pork inside.
It’s been awhile since I had decent Sweet and sour pork, and this was a pretty good rendition. Although at a much steeper price point. Worth a try!

The beef was definitely tender while the onsen egg made the dish even more delectable. I wished the rice was hotter though. $28++

I'm not a fan of foie gras so naturally this didn't appeal to me; but my sisters gobbled them up with so much gusto I can't say I wasn't impressed. They loved it! The flavourful marinated mince and fried beancurd skin proved an unexpected pairing to the bold foie gras. Dipped in the wonderfully tangy and sweet sauce, the combination of flavours and textures were nothing short of amazing.

Outer layer is nicely charred with no bitter aftertaste. Meat is tender and savoury. The sauce is sweet and brought out the essence of the whole dish. CALORIES THAT ARE WORTH IT!

Chanced upon this unique BBQ joint, one of the many new-ish eateries along the Tanjong Katong Rd stretch and this place was packed to the rafters on a Saturday night. Naturally I had to come back the next day to give it a try! Supposedly hand massaged, then slow cooked for hours, the succulent meat is tender and fall-of-the-bone, with nary a hint of gristle. The bbq glaze shines(literally and figuratively) with flavoursome, expertly spiced tanginess. The wedge of lime squeezed over is a stroke of genius that simultaneously served to cut through the richness and added a zesty sweetness to the meat when combined with the glaze. I was a little disappointed that fries and coleslaw are considered premium sides here at the cost of an additional $2 each. Free sides include only mash, salad and rice(can't confirm on this). Although primarily a BBQ house, this establishment also curiously enough serves a smattering of Asian dishes such as crispy tofu, eggplant with salted fish and minced pork, and baked rice. One thing you have to try is the chicken rice style chilli sauce and the Naughty Chilli sauce with your ribs. Weird, but it works! $18 for the ribs.
