Tip from a friend had us heading right for this new Ma La Xiang Guo place. Located in an underground car park food court, it's not very accessible unless you live around the area. Always, always love it when charges are by servings (similar to Chinatown's Ri Ri Hong) instead of weight. It's $1 for veg, $2 for chicken and pork, etc., hence so much more affordable! The hot pot here is a wetter version than the usual kind, with a slightly thick consistency sauce but still very satisfying, also one of the better ones I've had recently! But, I really got to say they are too heavy handed with the salt, so make sure to request for less upon order. We also asked for more garlic which upped the fragrance!

One of my favorite Bak chor mee in town. Ample ingredients and excellent chilli, extra noodles are FOC!
The fish stock boasts to have high levels of protein, calcium and collagen, and supposedly includes no milk, its whiteness stemming from all the boiled fish bone goodness. All I know is that the stock tastes wondrously comforting and rich, and the fish slices are in abundance, with some being so ridiculously thick and fat that you can use the slab to slap your friend’s face like a club. 4/5
