These authentic Portuguese egg tarts appearing on my feed for the 264895th time because they deserve that many encores.
Cannot wait to get a freshly baked one into my belly again tonight!!!! š I hope you peeps are as stoked as I am, @qiuuing @vivienneeluv @ironsage @makeyourcaloriescount!
While this may look like bubble tea, it is actually Thai Milk Tea Pudding ($2.20) with coconut milk and strawberry pearls ($0.40). The sauce is currently complimentary (opening special). When I was about to reach for a spoon, the lady told me to take the bubble tea straw. According to her, the pudding is soft enough to drink it up! And it's true!
I already fancy their flaky, crispy prata. Chopped up and stir-fried with the same ingredients that go into their mee goreng transforms it into an entirely new beast. And a tasty one to boot.
Granted the prata did lose a little of its crispiness but making up for that in a big way are the soft tofu cubes, broken-up egg, crunchy cabbage and "chye sim". Expect to be whacked head-on by their spicy chilli paste too.
Only a few ingredients go into this simple yet satisfying dish: finely minced pork, a slightly soft-centred egg, chopped coriander and lashings of fragrant garlic oil. In the hands of the Thai lady cook, the porridge is prepared Teochew style, which means the rice grains are still intact and not reduced to a smooth mush.
P.S. As Sweet Basil is a small sized casual eatery, I recommend to avoid going there during the peak lunch hour period if possible.
Featuring Tanuki's Truffle Yakiniku Don which was really tasty and for that price, it's practically a steal! If you can't afford Fat Cow's pricier version of beef don, this is quite a good alternative.
Having eaten a couple of tarts before, this is the first time that I've actually conquered 8/10 tarts within a week. Was stoked to find out that Cheryl just revealed a tart sweet pineapple in a strawberry form.
Featuring the forefront Pineberry tart, an exotic fruit thatās extremely juicy, sweet and has a highly aromatic flavour more akin to a pineapple, but bears the white strawberry appearance.
Also tried their fresh Lemon Tart, Passion Fruit Meringue, Strassberries, Pistachio, Cacao Barry, Caramel Hazelnut and Indian Alphonso Mango. Last two not-so-exciting flavours yet to try would be the Coffee and Mixed Berries tart.
Brilliant use of angel hair pasta to accentuate the sweet spicy nature of the Thai seasoning. The delicate, al dente texture of the pasta together with the lightly tossed Thai sauce made for quite an orgasmic mouthful. True to its name, the large grilled prawns were definitely the star of the dish. Well seasoned, succulent and fresh. Very good rendition of a fusion dish.
The Lokal's lobster roll is easily one of the least expensive ones around, so please come with expectations managed. It features slipper lobster tails tossed in a lemon mayo dressing. Every bite is refreshingly piquant and crunchy, thanks to the addition of chopped gherkins and housemade coleslaw. I loved the toasted buns - the melted butter in there was so darn good, plus it helped to balance the tart flavours nicely.
This wasn't part of my Omakase set (I chose to have the Wagyu Beef with Black Truffle bowl instead) but it looked so tempting I couldn't help cast sidelong greedy glances at it anyway š
Classic Trio Set D - Served on a big platter, the dish is completed with up to ten side dishes in portion for three (actually I think four pax also can). Dishes include ayam kalio, beef rendang, sambal sotong, ikan sambal bali, urap kencur, terung garem asam, sambal goreng, sambal kachang ikan bilis, begedel, telur belado, paru, ikan kering, serunding & sambal belachan.

It is born from a desire to offer top notch modern korean bites and drinks in a laid-back vibe. Love the ambience & bites here especially the hand chopped korean minced rib steak š More details on the link in bio.
Still not fully recovered, but longing to dive into this pile of crispy, golden chicken parts. Using only fresh, not frozen, meat, this dish has the poultry marinated for 6 hours in a proprietary seasoning before being battered and deep-fried. You'll find the meat is immensely tasty from skin to bone ā great on its own or complemented with the accompanying salsa and honey mustard sauce. Also available as wings or boneless tenders.
P.S. - Wash down all that yummy chook with the Ladykiller! It's a boozy drink built for sharing: an upsized mojito with an upside-down bottle of beer that replenishes the cocktail as you sip from it.
