Vietnamese & Thai
Thai crab meat dry curry, the curry is typical Thai curry which is not too strong, generous crab meat cooked with eggs that creates this silkiness texture, with some chunks of bell peppers, i had it with omelette rice topped with kaylan steams. Yummy...Sublime.. so glad i tried this one! You should ask them to reduce the saltiness a bit if you don’t like things to be too salty like me. Apart from that, if you are a crab meat and curry lover, this is something you have to try!
First bite, WOW! i have been wanting to try these chicken wings and when they opened a branch in Maxwell i was so happy. For someone who grew up in an island where good shrimp paste is commonly used, and produced locally, i like everything with shrimp paste/belacan or terasi we call it in Indonesia. It has this umami taste that can boost any dish, i even experimented it in a prawn aglio olio pasta, so very good! Anyway, this Har Cheong Gai deserves the title one of the best in Singapore, if not the best, well the best i have tasted so far. Marinated for 2 days in shrimp paste, and it takes 2 batters to create such crispiness that is just.. perfect!!
It was my first time to Mrs Pho and had one of my favourite Vietnamese dishes, dry vermicellli salad with grilled pork, pork balls and fried spring roll, a separate sweet sour salty sauce was served for you to pour over and mix it all together. I asked for extra basil leafs as i really like it. Very good, if only the grilled pork were not too sweet for my liking it would had been perfect!
The cockles with garlic sauce had really nice sauce, recommended!!
Fantastic vietnamese coffee to end the dinner. I wonder what's the coffee brand and even had a peek at the drink bar but failed to get it. Lemme know of any of you know it. Very very good coffee!
Grilled prawns on sticks, with some kind of salt and crushed chili dipping. Delicious!
The star of the dinner, very soft melt in your mouth creamy pancakes with prawn and touch of coconut milk. To die for!
One of my favourite dishes of the dinner, tender duck meat cooked in brown broth, with a bit of chili padi and herbs. Delicious! This place is quite a hidden gem. Cheap and cheerful! Very tasty!
Good broth matters for pho with right amount of herbs, it was good. Classic, even though i still prefer the ones at the known Vietnamese chain pho restaurant in SG.
Vietnamese fresh spring roll with prawn, rice noodle, fresh veggies and herbs with dark sweet salty brown sauce.
With Viet steamed egg sith pork and fungus pickels, spicy grilled seaweed roll. Newly opened Vietnamese Broken Rice Restaurant originally from South Vietnam. Generous toppings, not bad.
