From the hot & new Montana Brew Bar @MontanaBrewBar at POMO.
The waffle is agreeably crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, with a huge slab of chicken sandwiched in the middle. A steal at $9.50, so affordably priced.
I think students nearby will rejoice. Any friends from SMU, SOTA, Kaplan, Lasalle, NAFA etc here? Must tag them haha! #waffleporn
$15.90 for quite a filling meal - fries were awesome, but the burger patty was over toasted. Over all a 3/5.
Super friendly owners who are jovial and warm. Totally brings up the atmosphere, making you feel so comfortable and at home. Serving Papa Palheta's Terra Firma which leaves a slightly brighter after taste (for my piccolo latte) compared to the usual throwback I've had. But when balanced (in the case of latte) it tastes pretty similar to throwback š š (lousy tongue I've) btw ITS A MUST TO ORDER THE ICED CHOCOLATE ITS REALLY THE BOMBZ OKKK and the Bananoffe cake šš Pastries are supplied by BAO (what's new?) haha if it's not in the east, I'll probably frequent them pretty often.
First, let's talk about the pork. Without a doubt, it lived up to its name with that ultra crisp skin. The meat itself was pure juiciness too. Pleased as I was with the meat, my satisfaction multiplied when I dabbed the home-made sweet brown "gula melaka" mustard onto it. We're talking match-made-in-heaven level of deliciousness.
Moving on to the squid. Guess what those succulent babies were stuffed with? "Pulot hitam"! Cooked till it resembled risotto, the black glutinous rice added a nice, soft chewiness as I gobbled up each ring of the fresh squid. However, I believe it could've benefitted with a tad more salt.
Special mention must be given to the stunning presentation of these two items. The chef did an impressive job with the plating, didn't he?
Arterial is one place to head to for good coffee, soups, pastas, and open-top sandwiches. Their sandwiches include pleasures like flaked salmon, ham & cheese, and mushroom. A fried egg and feta cheese can be added for an additional $2, which comes highly recommended by Tastemaker Xing Wei, who says "It was a mess to eat, but seriously this is why it just tastes so good!" As they continue to update their menu and pour great coffee made from Liberty Coffee blends, this new cafe along Temple Street is set to make waves in the Chinatown cafe scene.
The Klatch is located on the second story of a shophouse along Princep Street. It may be a little tricky to find, but once found, you're in for a good cuppa made with beans from Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee, and a time of quiet in a laid back environment. Great for reading, work (they have free wifi!), and times of quiet reflection.
