it's amazing how you can slowly find such items in our hawker setting.
although rather unhealthy due to the burnt rice, that crispy bottom and the tender chicken makes for a comforting meal.
the skewers though could be better.
on another note, the relentless heat is back again after yesterday's tears
at $6.90 it was anything but cheap. well, at least the kueh was silky and pork was decent. broth was quite blend.
ah yes, introducing this dish, new to me but residents here at toh guan have been exposed to it for years - šššš fried cai po hor fun.

the newest and only outlet to serve ice cream, ponggol nasi lemak has sorbets and local flavoured milo and horlicks ice cream. great in his hot weathered days.
šššš had a wanton mee with an addition serving of duck. I like how the duck is so tender and soft yet retaining that duckish texture. At $6, it's really quite a treat with wanton, charsiew and duck. šš
instead of using those unhealthy food colorings, the owners chose to use authentic gula melaka. chocolate sauce is added accompanied by a generous douse of peanuts. at just $2.50 it beats many other deserts hands down.
