Taiwan, Taipei Noms
Followed a taxi uncle advice and was glad we followed it. Tender and flavourful goose meat. Therapeutic noodles with delicious pork stock. Noms
The oyster omelette is better than shi lin's but not as good as the one in tai zhong! The soups made me feel less sinful. :x it was pretty good though! Clear and slightly peppery.
I know it looks like a chess piece in the photo and it's not very pretty. Have you ever had a curry puff with tau sar piah crust before? It was very good! Strong curry flavour that somehow went very well with the crust. Check out their pineapple tarts , sun biscuit, taro puffs (was sold out when I was there) as well!
It's just one of the dish that you have to eat because you are in taipei. Other than the beef being very tender and the fact that I like their pickles.. I wouldn't say it's very impressive. I like Lai Lai back home. Haha
Just had to eat at the very first din tai fung store. Many people would say that this is better than the din tai fung in singapore. To be honest, I don't really taste a difference. Maybe slightly better but if I need a Xiao long Bao fix, I'll still go to the nearest store rather than flying here. On the other hand, Truffle Xiao Long Bao is really really good! I might fly here for this though. Haha
Haha well the cong you bing is literally like our version of prata! Except we ordered the one with ham, egg and cheese. So sinfully good! Be prepared for a long queue though!
Wanted to try the famous Taiwan railway bento. But went past the gantry before I could purchase it. In the end I opted to get the more atas one on the train. The pork was really well marinated! And came with lots of sides that I liked. Quite a good alternative afterall(never got to try the traditional bento haha)
I love yam and I love tau huay. Ate this while walking to carrefour to get some snacks. Such a great treat for a warm day!
I must say I was less than impressed with this. But it's really popular and touted as a must try... But it's ok, could do with more fruits though.
Slurps. I know it doesn't look very sze chuany. But this soup was so popular we had to check 4 times before getting it. It isn't as starchy as typical sze chuan soup and is very refreshing!
A random find while looking for a pharmacy. (Fell sick after more than a week of awesome Taiwanese food) boy were we glad we chanced upon this. The jiao zi was so good! Steamed till just nice and the skin wasn't overly thick nor thin. Chilli w garlic and vinegar went super well. Loved the complimentary pickle cabbage as well. Still salivating while thinking abt it. Lol
Chose this for our last breakfast in Taiwan. Savory soy bean , yam mantou and a Shao bing with pork and omelette. Red tea soya milk for my friend and brown rice soy milk for me. Yum! 😋 one of the best breakfast I had!
