Japanese Food In SG
I think this is a pretty new restaurant, located at level 12 of Orchard central roof garden. The service was really good and it's advisable to take the high chairs as the lower ones are quite cramp. This restaurant is well known for their "yakitori" skewers. They do serve small dishes and very limited choice for "rice/noodle" dishes. However I was really surprise that this bowl of ramen taste better than those ramen joints in Singapore. The double broth Taka chan ramen ($8.80) comes in a small serving(so you can have stomach for yakitori) was mind blowing! The broth was thick and a little milky made from dry fish and pork bone stock. It is not oily at all, the noodle was al dente and came with about 3 thinly slice charsiew which melts in the mouth. I don't usually drink the ramen soup but couldn't help slurping this up! I also had the wagyu beef skewer ($11) bacon with asparagus ($5) and shitake mushroom ($4). Pricing is for 1 skewer only. They were all fantastic and I will be back for more ramen!!!
Worth the try and value for money. Do take note of their operating hours as they are closed in the afternoon. Only open for lunch and dinner hours.
