Here Comes Europe!
A great combination of runny sunny-side-up, crispy bacon and tomato-based sauce with big pieces of grilled tomatoes. The cheese was presented as dried thin separate pieces, and I would very much like it melted onto the pizza base. But still enjoyable overall.
This is my 2nd time trying this. The prawns are just as nice as the previous one but the linguine was slightly wetter and tasted a little different. Still delicious though!
Smooth and creamy, loaded with chunks of mushrooms cut into the right size. Good for sharing, as it may be cloying after a while.
The pumpkin soup was delicious even at such a low price (as in the 2-pax set and also as an add-on to a main for $3.50 with a drink). The Pom-pins (what a cute name) were fried potatoes that were amazingly not too oily and very evenly breaded. This restaurant, hidden at the top level of the mall, is surely a good hideout for friends to catch up with each other!
(This dish has a cooler name) Risotto retained a bit of hardness instead of turning all mushy, the way I like it. Going for the 2-pax set including 2 mains, a soup, a side and 2 drinks at only $21.90 is definitely a good deal!
4 different items for each person. Mixture of sweets and pastries that are tiny and cute, but a pity we couldn't finish them.
Just look at the perfectly spherical shape of the vanilla ice cream and you know this restaurant is not a typical family restaurant. Back to the dish: This is undoubtedly delicious, but there isn't any special oomph effect making it a lot more outstanding than the rest. I've never loved chocolate lava cakes as I they are too sweet for me anyway, so perhaps I'm not the best person to judge.
Pasta was firm and springy, and the skillfully cut pieces of clam were tasteful as well. What I would especially like to commend is the plating, showing the chef's drive for perfection. Eating on the flat stone plate made this dish even more interesting and enjoyable.
My first time having a go at white truffles, and a substantial amount indeed. Costing $9 per gram, I really couldn't bear to swallow it. For those who haven't tasted real truffles, I can only say it's delicious, unique and heavenly, and it's difficult to find a simile to describe it. I believe the pasta was meant to be that way, but I would definitely like it better if it were less cooked and with less cheese. Cheese taste was overpowering and it's easy to get sick of it if you have one whole plate to yourself.
Soft and nutty, this was a great dessert to end of the hearty meal but it was still not my favorite. It was delicious, but to me it didn't taste much different from a vanilla ice cream oops.
This is what I call a piece of top-notch steak with a combination of tenderloin and sirloin meat and not missing out on the necessary fats that gives it juiciness and tenderness. A great dish for sharing, and scraping off whatever meat left from the bone at the end. $16 for 100 g is easily more worth it than other steak restaurants! More about the restaurant: This is definitely one that mandates reservation, for without it it's difficult to get a seating in its small capacity. It goes by set meals of different courses but you can choose the dishes that you want and the chefs are most willing to split the portions up skillfully to the number you request. The service is definitely praiseworthy, while the meal is made all the more worthy by the various complimentary items like creme brûlée at the start and mini desserts at the end (it really depends on what the chef feels like giving!). One could easily spend a comfortable 2 h here with food coming at a well adjusted pace and the waiters having excellent attitude.
The melon was specially requested and it was really nice of the waiter to inform us that it was a local melon. The Parma ham was not as salty as the others I tasted, and the melon's still real sweet!
