As can be seen from all my previous postings, it is clear that not only does the Chef pays attention to the taste of his dishes, he also takes pride in how they looked. Our dessert came looking like a cigar on an ash tray, with the ‘cigar’ being made up by cocoa wafer with every bite oozing the familiar tropical and aromatic tart flavours of passionfruit. The ‘ash’ are made up of coconut meringue and buried underneath it lies mango purée with real mango bits. This serves as final curtain call to an otherwise excellent meal! ⁣⁣

Take date night up a notch at this snazzy 75-seater restaurant in MBFC. Share the impressive Suckling Pig ($45) that sees roasted loin served on a bed of barley and argula. Also great is the Black Paella — choose between the Lobster ($58) or the Catch of the Day ($38) to pair with your saffron-cooked rice, served with creamy herb aioli and sweet cherry tomatoes.

The former, an inspiration from Kedah Laksa, is a waffle served with crab meat, pineapple cucumber salad and assam gula melaka mayo. Besides waffles, you can also opt for other pasta dishes and a selection of coconut cold brew to go with your meal. Instead of water, coconut water was used to enhance the sweetness of the brew and I will recommend the Regular ($6.50) for the natural flavour profile. For the adventurous, there's the Yuzu ($7.80) and Nitro ($7), which seek to appeal the different taste buds.

Beside that, we tasted the creative burger concepts from @southbronxburger such as the Umami ($11), a burger containing a house-made beef patty sandwich between buns and paired with miso mushrooms, bonito flakes and a furikake mayo.

This was a tasting hosted by @montanasingapore and many thanks to Ying for the hospitality.

Indulging in my first-ever transcontinental dinner preview at Epicurean Journeys by The Luxury Collection. Featuring master chef Jesse Llapitan's Tuna Tartare on a crispy wanton skin and dressed with The Palace's Original Green Goddess sauce.

If you're looking for an exclusive and exquisite treat (4 to 6 June) for your special one, tickets for the Pop-up Chefs Dinner Series are still available at the following website at www.epicureanjourneys.sg

- and got me thinking of the Mushroom Truffle Risotto($20NETT) that I had on my other visit that I had to ask discretely "can I have the risotto? " which I got to know that I actually couldn't have it unless I specially called in to order first. But I got lucky and the owner Shaun still made it for me! 😊😊😊

So this is what I got - Plump mushrooms making their noticeable presence and risotto with mushroom and truffle flavours dancing in your mouth. Spinach making a short entrance here and there to give you a different texture. I would like my risotto rice to be more softer, cause I'm a 👵 but if you like grainier rice risotto you will like this! And good news it's on their "menu" you just have to ask, and you shall be given.

And yes, hoping that @thebetterfield 's R&D goes well then we'll have new yummy dished to try! 😊 thanks for having us yesterday till late!

Located in the private estates of Bowmount Gardens along Frankel Ave of Siglap is Coast and Company, the cafe wing of Coast Cycles. Bright and minimalist interior gives a clean and welcoming feel. Affiliated with Papa Pahelta, it offers various types of coffee from espresso-based to brewed coffee, as well as juices, teas and alcohol. The food menu consists of a limited selection of fusion dishes, all of which are designed with the help of local chef Willin Low of Wild Rocket. Looking for the aftermeal dessert? Choose from the muffins and croissants available or just head on to Flor Patisserie or Classic Cakes few units down.

Light, fluffy and airy waffles with a crispy exterior and a bread-like taste as they used yeast in their recipe for that fluffiness. Cheesecake gelato was slightly jelak to finish for one, but dab it on the waffle with each slice cut and it becomes a luxurious dessert to have.

This stack of pancakes come in 4 layers, topped with soft bananas, ricotta, crunchy pistachio bits and honey. Top it up with some honeycomb for another $3, it really goes a long way! Be sure to get a bit of the creamy riccotta with every bite. Also, the presentation is superb. End off with their aromatic long black. Photo by Huixuan Tan.

The French toast at Maison Ikkoku is served either with fresh berries, or sea salt caramel. Two large pieces of toast drenched generously with sea salt caramel, topped with roasted walnuts, caramelised bananas and mascarpone cream cheese with a cinnamon-coated orange. If you like sweet desserts, this will be perfect for sharing! Photo by C G.

Already known for their great brunch items, such as their Flan (which you should get before these waffles), Symmetry also nails the waffle. At $14, bananas, strawberries, peanut butter, hazelnut chocolate, maple syrup and vanilla ice cream sit atop crispy, fluffy waffles. Get an extra scoop of blueberry ice cream for a near-perfect dish!
