Papa-Instant Rice Roll aka Guay Jup (or more commonly spelt here as Kueh Chup. A Teochew influenced noodle dish that finds its way into Thai fusion culinary adventure. Added fried pork rind or khaep mu for extra texture (crispy is lost but it has that soggy niceness) and flavors!
With some efforts instant food can be not bad too
This is what pulls the family together
One of the simplest best home cooking by my mum on a rainy afternoon
A family classic recipe, with lots of chilli, bean paste, tomato and peteh. A dish good enough to go solo with just white rice
No secrets on the recipe as you might have also seen it on YouTube. Basically poach your noodles to 70% doneness. In a separate pan, add the sauces from the ramyun, 100ml of fresh milk warmed up and then add the noodles. Watch your cooking time to avoid having overcooked the noodles. Add a slice of breakfast cheese a minute before serving, mix it in when you give it a final toss. Add seaweed or other condiments or sidedish, think fried chicken, luncheon meat or streaky bacon)a nd your are ready with your own version of ramyun!
Made by a very nice friend. Of course taste nice lah!
How amazing to return home at midnight and be welcomed by this treat.
Honestly, this has overtaken all instant noodle, been hoon, kway teow, pasta of all time. Cost US$3 for 6 packets. The flavour and texture of the rice noodle is just amazing. Cam-miss-dis
