Japanese Oishii
A steal considering that many Japanese eateries are selling ramen in the $12 – $20 range, and that is excluding taxes.
I had the Sweet Sake Marinated Pork Chop Ramen ($7.80), and the yellow noodles used were more to the chewy, mildly-curly, medium-thick side.
Not the type that I liked most, but I find that it worked well with the soup which wasn’t too heavily rich.

That's fluffy egg omelette with pork slices topped on thinly sliced cabbage.
There are two concepts to Tamaya Dining – a sushi bar helmed by Sushi Chiharu from Japan, contrasted with Izakaya-style dining. Quite affordable pricing as well.

@koganeyamasg at Bugis Junction should be the only Tendon shop in Singapore that allows diners to customise their own tendon bowl, from the key ingredients (chicken, prawn, vegetable or mixed), to base (rice, soba, udon), sauces (choice of four), and add-ons of chawanmushi and miso soup.
You would find that the tempura looked more yellowish-golden, and upon eating would have a moderate *crunch*, crispier than the average brand –

Instead of the usual sake, Southpaw offers whisky and bourbon pairings with meals.

The Chirashi Don is one of the signature dishes of Ginzawa @ginzawa , offering generously fresh portions of Hotate, Kinmedai, Tai, Otoro, Botan Ebi, Shima Aji, Akami, Buri, Ikura and Uni on rice. Oh, the rich creamy uni.

Negitoro Chirashi ($18++), Hokkaido rice topped with rich and buttery northern bluefin tuna imported directly from Japan.
Lunch sets were easily below $20, of course that would depend on what you order. The waiting times could be erratic though. My colleague’s Sashimi Bento came in about 10 minutes, while my tempura easily took 15 minutes later.

The boxes were beautifully presented, neatly arranged with seafood, largely unadulterated so that you could taste the freshness of its ingredients.
