Truly loyal customers to this place! Must order their 水煮鱼 and 地三鲜. The mala ($6/$10) is quite worth it too, only downside is that you cannot choose the ingredients.
Picked up some takeout mapo tofu and rice ($9.20). Tasty and satisfying, although it was missing the minced meat usually found in mapo tofu. Enjoyed the copious amount of (non spicy) green chillies 👍
Mala xiangguo ($11 for 2 pax, with 2 white rice)
Mala sauce is nice with the good amount of numbness. This time round the black fungus tasted abit sourish though so we took them all out. Not sure if the dip in quality is due to the CNY holiday.
Mala xiangguo ($10 - good for 2 to share, +$0.50 each for rice)
Ingredients are fresh and generous, taste is spicy, numb and enough flavour. Very very authentic and good! Always come back here when craving for mala.
Back to Lin Jia Liang Pi again and their Liang Pi was sold out 😩 Got their mlxg again and it wasn’t as good as I remembered - more oily and salty this time round. Gonna make a mental note to drop by earlier next time to catch the Liang Pi!
Didn’t really like the noodles used here, they were chewy in the middle but had this slight hard bite on the outside. Soup was slightly too sweet but the sourness was a refreshing pairing to our ma la xiang guo.
